300W Replacement Power Supply 5DDV0 05DDV0 for Dell Inspiron 620/660 Vostro 260 H300NM-00

Was a perfect drop-in replacement for the OEM Inspiron 620 power supply, including screw-hole placement. The only variance from OEM that I found was that the connectors on the drive power cables are flipped, which only really matters if you've installed a 2nd drive. In that case, run the cable all the way to the bottom then make a U-turn and connect the lower bay first, then the upper bay. A little unintuitive, but only 60 seconds' extra work. Just be careful not to pinch the wires while sliding on the side of the case, because they won't lie quite as flat as the OEM.

Having troubleshot my dead computer to the power supply, I did an online search for a replacement. I found this with a very competitive price. The ATX CPU cord was too short. I have to splice so wires in, which may or may not work.

Unfortunately, I discovered that the problem with the pc I was asked to repair was not related to the power supply. The real cause of the problem was located just above the keyboard. I could have sent it back as I never even plugged it in. So I can’t say if it works or not but it looks to be of good quality. At the price to ship it back, I kept the power supply.

I have to redo the power connectors to accommodate a slick DVD Rom.
