Great dresser and a cold beverage during assembly
The Sauder Harbor View 5-Drawer dresser is a quality product that really is beautiful. This is a fairly large piece of furniture to assemble, compared to a small table or nightstand, so know in advance that unless you're really energized it may take you 2-3 hours to build this, depending on how fast or slow you want to go. I split it up over two days. Also a cold beverage helps, if you catch my drift. And I don't mean iced coffee. (Note to spouses, male or female: If your spouse is putting this together alone, he or she may appreciate a cold beverage after the first hour. And I don't mean water.) Time and effort will reward you with a beautiful dresser. If you want to go to one of the bargain stores, you can stay right on "Target" and go get something half the price of this dresser, but if you want a quality product that is set to stand the test of time, this is a beautiful addition to any bedroom! Again, if someone else is putting this together for you, he or she may appreciate a cold beverage after an hour or so. And I don't mean iced tea. And I don't mean a soft drink. And I don't mean a green juice. And I don't mean a smoothie. And I don't mean milk. Have a great day.

Sauder Harbor Dark Espresso 5 Drawer Chest
I like this line of furniture. I also have Sauder Harbor large armoire. It is much heavier than regular compressed wood furniture (like I have Prepac bed and dresser, so I can tell you, Prepac is way worse in quality but priced the same). The finish is also much thicker, not paper thin at all, but it can scuff off if you are not careful. The chest is very tall as compare to regular chest size, I think it is about 4 and a half feet tall. But I really like it a lot.It also came damaged, two large side pieces were broken in half, and there was also some minor damage to other piece. However, the seller replaced all 3 damaged pieces, which I got just a few days later. I know the first shipment was damaged by FedEx people, because I saw that the box was smashed in the middle and I know how they handle large boxes, they don't care.I don't think it is hard to put together. I am a short girl, just a bit over 100 lbs, and I put together all my furniture by myself and I am not a construction worker or anything :)) You just have to be patient, don't rush, and it will come out beautifully.Overall, I love my Sauder Harbor furniture, I am really considering buying a night stand and tall bookcases they have in this line. Most of my furniture is espresso color, so Sauder Harbor Dark finish matches perfectly my Prepac platform bed and Prepac Fremont Dresser in espresso. I am not a Cottage style lover, but by looking at Sauder Hardor furniture in Antique white, I say, I like it, too.

Heavy but looks nice
First the packaging, the styrofoam was absolutely destroyed inside causing there to be bits of it everywhere but also not protecting the pieces of the furniture. The whole cardboard box was destroyed and if it hadnt been wrapped in plastic I'm not sure it would have even made it to my door.Because of the poor packaging & materials there were nicks & presses & cracks in many of the visible surfaces. Fortunately for me none of them are visible after its built unless you're looking for them. I decided to use wood glue on some of the drawer faces (they come as 3 pieces pressed together) because just handling them the pieces would start to slide out. In the end it looks nice in my closet. This dresser is very heavy, I'm 4'11" and could not carry the box it came it so I took it piece by piece into the room to build. I also can't carry just the empty frame. If you live alone I'd suggest moving with a dolly or furniture slides. While this isn't solid wood, its definitely heavy enough to seem like it should be. Its sturdy and seems like good materials.I didn't have any problems with assembly. I built it all by myself, no help needed. But ive put together a lot of these types of build kits in my life, from various places. If you don't have previous experience this wouldn't be a good first dresser to build alone. The instructions were great and easy to follow as long as you look at the written steps and the pictures.

Great quality at great price!
This dresser looks so nice in the bedroom. It was everything I imagined it would be. It's very durable and I'm actually shocked that this is made by Sauder. I used to have a computer armoire made by Sauder that was extremely nice but I didn't expect to be this pleased with a dresser. If you want something nice but inexpensive, this is the way to go. I guarantee people will think you paid more for it. It did take a couple of hours to put together but it was well worth it. The only con is the packaging of the screws. All of the screws are in one bag which made it hard to find certain ones but that's about it. The instructions are very easy to follow. I am not disappointed and would recommend this product!

Looks good in the picture, but don't be fooled
10/14/2020. Update on this item: a couple of months later, this dresser totally began to break down. The drawer bottoms caved in. Drawer fronts were coming off. We broke it down and took it to the dump. It’s trash. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM! I ended up going on Craigslist and picked ip a gorgeous antique 100% mahogany dresser with solid dovetailed drawers for $160.00. It will last forever. This new stuff is crap. This item took me 4 hours to assemble. The drawer fronts are very hard to work with. They kept coming off and I ended up having to buy brackets to keep them from separating. It's all pressed cardboard. Junk. One of the drawer fronts scratched the first week. I've never purchased anything so poorly made!
