The title may say masons hammer, but this guy also works well as a geology hammer. I've been bashing rocks with it for about half a year now and it's doing a fine job. I really like the chisel edge, really useful for splitting rocks with a grain in them. Estwing is a tried and true name. My father has one in his barn from about 20 years ago and the design is almost unchanged. For the price I think I'll buy another one, usually these things run around $40+ so this is a steel.

I was really confused on the weight options. I ordered the heaviest, thinking maybe it would be HUGE. I'm glad I ordered the 24oz. It's basically the size and weight of a normal hammer. This is a very solid tool.

I have two hammers same make and have had for years. will be useful when rock hunting and breaking rocks aprt.

Very good hammer. I put my hammer through the ringer and it holds up very well.
