This is the best pocket camera in the world right now and no one knows it.
I'm a pro photographer. And no, it doesn't take the same quality images as a full size DSLR.But it has an HDR function that is adjustable and takes the most amazing nature pictures at the mildest setting. Totally natural looking and filled in.No other camera has an adjustable HDR setting, they all produce HDR with artsy effects. It has a super high speed mode, that lets you take 30 pictures in one second, allowing you to capture that exact moment the kids hit the pool or the motorcycle. No other camera has this, they take at most 5 pictures per second. There's a Sony DSLR that takes 12 per second, but it's really expensive and big.And here may be the biggest feature of all: It has a feature called "makeup" which makes the faces of subjects look better than they would otherwise, like they've been touched up in Photoshop, and this effect is available in 12 steps. When women see how amazing they look after I've taken their picture they can't believe it.No other camera has this in camera. It's easy to use, and really well built. The only downside is that to use the flash (and you should almost always use the flash) you have to manually open the flash with a little button. It should pop up on it's own.

Great for slow motion.

WOW, I mean WOW
I've shown this camera to two people, and they both got it for themselves. This uses a technology that I haven't seen in American cameras, which is probably why the language is defaulted to Japanese and the manual is in Japanese too. I've read low review for this product because somehow some people don't know that you can download a very well written manual from the Casio website in English. I am a professional, award-winning photographer, and for instant photography without a tripod, this camera beats everything I've seen hands down. I've taken zoom shots where the image is shaking in the lcd screen yet the photo comes out crystal clear. Water freezes in motion. You can take multiple shots in a second. It works great with low light. It has excellent automatic features AND you can create your own manual settings. I had a Nikon before this, which in comparison was a complete piece of trash. The only thing I would say about this camera for people who are considering purchasing it, it that this is an amazing point and shoot camera, so you're not going to get shots with real depth of field, since it has a fixed lens. I always have an SLR camera for studio shots, and shots that I set up using a tripod. That being said this is the new state of the art for point and click cameras, and people who want to be able to do 1000fps in video for a very reasonable price!

Poor quality
This camera quit working with less than one month of very light use. Would not recommend this camera due to poor quality.

Great pictures, easy to use, and easy to carry around!
This makes my 3rd Casio camera in the past 10 years. I recently purchased this Casio Ex-ZR700 because we were going on vacation & I thought it would be good to have a higher megapixel and quicker auto focus... I love this camera! It takes great pictures, has various easy to use settings, & it easily fits into my purse. The zoom is awesome, too! It has GREAT zoom without having to change the lens. I do have to push the button to pop up the flash, & sometimes I have to turn on the flash in some areas that I think might need more light. That was no big deal, because it takes amazing pictures in very little light, even indoors! Yes, I continue to stay a fan of Casio cameras!!!

Wonderful camera!
The EX ZR700 takes better than expected photos, movies, is easy to use, large zoom, pocketable and good looking. I'm a happy owner. This is my third Casio, V8, FH100, which couldn't swim and now its replacement the ZR700. Received the camera in only 3 days time from Japan. I am of the opinion that Casio makes better and more versatile pocket cameras than all other manufactures.

Great compact camera
I was first drawn to this camera series for the high number of photos it is rated to be able to take on one battery charge. With these backlit LCD screens, other compact cameras will chew down the power while you are waiting for the perfect moment to photograph kids in a play or concert, etc. Battery swap out can mean you miss 3 minutes of an event. Not so with a Casio. This camera has lots of really usable features, like low light HDR, focus depth control, high speed video for slow motion. The manual (downloadable in English) describes the "how to" for each photographic approach very well. If you can't remember what was in the manual, there is a setting called BS for Best Shot, where sample photos illustrate settings you can quickly set and there is a text description of that scenario as well. The old standards for aperture control, shutter control, etc. are also there. On receiving it, I was impressed by the solid feel. Probably not the lightest compact, but there is more strength where there is metal. If you want a better camera than one of these Casios, you need a Nikon DSLR, weighing much more, and more likely to be busted when tripping and swinging from the neck. Like another reviewer said, Casio make the best compact cameras, and no one in North America knows it.

Complimenti!

Casio EX-ZR700 Digital Camera
I bought this camera because it has high speed shooting capability (30 fps). After used it a few times, I really like it. in addition to everything that other point-and-shoot camera has, Casio EX-ZR700 camera has really optical zoom and low light sensor. When taking a picture of a map on the wall under in-door light, for example, I found that the resolution of the map in the photo is even better than the photo taken using my Cannon T3i and 55mm-250mm zoom lens.Use of a tripod is recommended when taking a photo of a distant object, otherwise, the photo may be blurred.
