Paul, Women and Church

Expand the mind
This is a wonderful book. It shows how women were in the start of the Church. It was not a mens club and women sat on the sidelines. Women were very involved in ministry and the growth of Christinaity and the Church.

A fair consideration of a contentious subject
This is a thought provoking work for anyone caught in the dilemma of trying to resolve the question of gender, in so far as it relates to roles and activities within the body of believers. Meaning those who have submitted to the Lordship of Christ Jesus and the authority that has been bestowed upon Him by His Father. This is a subject that has been thrown back and forth by many, leading to contentions, divisions and a great deal of ill feeling towards those who have taken a position different to others. An outcome which in its self is totally at odds with the spirit of Christ. For anyone who wishes to obtain a balanced an objectives examination of the issues involved, they can do no better than spend time considering the case presented by this book.

There is neither make nor female in Christ..
There is neither male or female in Christ. The church in Ephesus came largely out of the sex cult of Diana worship and those women freshly emerging from that culture were the women to whom Paul was addressing to keep silent in the church and not to teach men. It wasn't a command for all churches for all times, ranger addressing a particular woman who was problematic in Ephesus at that particular time. The main reason there isn't revival is men keeping women suppressed in the church today. It's a boy's club. Repent. Excellent book, recommended.

Paul, Women and Church
Nice little read, which proved quite helpful in my research. Not in the least exhaustive, but packed full of Truths that bring the Truth-seeker right where he or she must be.

Very refreshing
Absolutely love this book! Very informative and lots of historical context. Growing up in a Pentecostal church that opposed women in Ministry, this gave me the opportunity to see how the Apostle Paul's message regarding women in Ministry is still relevant today.

Excellent
I thank my God and Savior for Dr Hyatt and this book. I have been researching this subject for almost a year. There are so many conflicting teachings on the subject of women in ministry. Thank you, Dr Hyatt for your scholarly and timely attention to this highly controversial subject.

Ordain women? Here's the Bible view
A super valuable presentation of the complete validity of the ministry of women (including ordained roles) in the Church. It is from a solid, evangelical, Bible-based prospective, NOT some leftist, apostate, feminist view.

Revolutionary, yet thoroughly biblical!!!
I read this book coming from a comlementarian viewpoint of gender roles within the Church and family. I have to admit that this book has challenged me to see that this viewpoint is not as solid as I had once thought it was. Why did Paul say it was "shameful for women to even speak in church" and that they must be "silent". Most complementarians feel uncomfortable with these passages, I know I did, and teach a watered down version of this. The question is, are these universal statements for all time? Or is Paul addressing a direct situation within churches such as Ephesus and Corinth? I believe this book has the answers.
