I use this camera with Blue Iris. I configure Blue Iris to do all the motion detection. I have two of these cameras. I am a very advanced user and have tested over 10 different camera models. This camera is by far the nicest one. This is my first zoom camera which I really like because I have these cameras setup in very challenging situations where i need a specific focal length. The zoom lens is high quality and the lens is as sharp as my fixed lens cameras. The infrared night vision and the low light color sensitivity of this camera is by far the best I have tested. I like the mounting system. I did buy the optional wall bracket but I found that I did not need it. This camera has the standard Dahua web configuration built-in to its own embedded web server. I am very familiar with the user interface and I like it. Another strength of this camera is that it does a very good job of lowering the transmitted bandwidth if nothing in the scene is changing and it raises the bandwidth to capture rapid moving object in its field of few. This camera has a 30 frames per second frame rate which does a good job of capturing motion. In daytime I use this camera in its wide-dynamic-range which produces much better pictures than my other cameras. I have not used its IVS functions. I purchased this truck camera, also known as an eyeball camera, to replace an existing camera that was six or seven years old. This camera is an amazing improvement on the old one, even though the old one had more megapixels. It's a fantastic image both day and night, even with very low light. The power zoom feature seems like it could be useful if you are viewing stuff live, although I use my cameras with blue iris so I don't expect that I'll be actually zooming in and out on objects, just setting the zoom once and leaving it. Also has an autofocus feature, which works perfectly. Install is easy, set up was pretty straightforward once I found the IP address for the camera. Very well-made, metal body, heavy, everything about it says high quality. I mounted this on a sidewall, so I got a right angle hanger for it, which is custom-fit for this purpose, and also serves as a waterproof box to house the cabling. I only used the standard power over Ethernet, as my run was just about 100 ft, although supposedly it has enhanced power over ethernet capability for long runs.

I bought this camera to test it out for a business I am opening. The camera is extremely well built and has excellent low light performance and a solid daytime picture. The multi-focal lens gives so much more flexibility for placement of camera and targeting specific areas. I could not be more pleased with the camera. I couple of small points are the embedded website control functions best with the use of internet explorer. Chrome and Edge browsers continue to have issues with the required plug-in even on the Dec 2018 firmware. The lack of good documentation of the features and how to use them (e.g. IVS, face detection, tripwire, etc) is also an issue but other than that, it's a great camera at a reasonable price. It's a favorite of ipcamtalk.com for a reason.for the cost:-its great in low light.-it gets good images in low light. (try getting a face image at night of someone walking in the dark with cheaper 4K cameras)-it's varifocal so new people will find it easier to work with.-good uptime.-works with both Dahau NVR offerings but many other generic NVRs as well.-works with Blue Iris.-Got a mic-lots of options.-sub stream

Purchased this after a bit of research and reading on IPCam Talk (one of the best places to learn alot) .Requires some knowledge to initialize. Or help , and reading on IPCT. After installing it works great. There are slightly newer versions that are 4 MP. But I am happy with the performance of this. Very good night vision. Even better if you add more IR light if you need it. The camera has OFF ,manual and Smart IR. I keep it on Smart. So far no problems!

UPDATE: Still going strong on 11/1.Have this set up to watch my cars and record people going to and from my front door. It's been recording 24/7 for a week and no issues thus far. It's a bit difficult to get the camera in place in order to tighten the set screw. Make sure you do get the hang of it on a table first before you climb any ladders.As long as you do your research and properly secure the camera (physically and cyber-wise) I think it lives up to the hype.Based on what I've seen on the IPcamtalk forums I've no doubt the seller will provide great customer service if I ever need it.

After someone broke into our truck one night I decided it was time to update our cameras. Thh images from the Reolink cameras really looked like crap at night because they drop to about 10FPS, so any motion is blurry. and not to many thieves tend to stand there still for a picture. So I bought one of these for testing. So far I am pretty happy with the results, I can get a full 60FPS at night, without even tweaking the camera settings. My old Reolink gave around 10.I do wish the onscreen date/time text had a background color you could set around the text to make it easier to read.Otherwise no other complaints at this time. Will update later.

It is easy to set up. Living in the woods I have always had problems with spiders blocking the lens of my cameras but for some reason this shape seems to deters them from doing that GREAT! Using the zoom feature makes it easy to frame the perfect picture you want to have and the auto focus is a godsent for my old eyes. Features like IVS, face detection, and tripwire makes setting up events a breeze so you are alerted to any situation you want. It just don't get much better than this camera.
