A quality volume or manual (it doesn't matter!)
This is a fascinating book by Nigel Watson which has been well researched and presented. It explains the history of UFO sightings with lots of facts and photographs. The thing I like is that it is balanced, for example, it covers the faking and misidentification of UFOs as well as credible sightings. There is also speculation about the possible propulsion of UFOs etc. In addition, it contains a section devoted to UFO making a UFO report etc. There's very comprehensive coverage of a challenging and fascinating subject - I cannot think how anyone with an interest in the subject would not find this a worthy addition to their bookshelf.By and largely I see this volume as a well researched and produced book rather than a manual in the context that Haynes are famed for. To me, this latter observation is something that the branding gurus at Haynes may need to consider but it doesn't matter too much to the consumer. The diversification into books like this by Haynes is welcome because of the quality - there is now even a Thunderbirds volume which I do not own (yet) but don't doubt will be top quality. This is a thought provoking and very well produced book by Nigel Watson which maintains the Haynes reputation for high quality. I enjoyed this book immensely and will keep reverting to it - on that basis it easily gets five stars. Recommended.

Basic but comprehensive
This is a basic but comprehensive overview of the historic and ever-fascinating UFO phenomenon with a huge collection of illustrations useful to the text. The author has no axe to grind, which is refreshing, and he writes in a very objective as well as informative manner. Of course the many aspects of the subject are not written up in great detail(the pictures probably take more space than the text) but that does not detract from the usefulness both to the reader new to the subject and to all who are well versed in it.An enjoyable read.(Just for information I did spot just one minor factual error: Stonehenge is east, not west, of Warminster.)

Nicer than I expected
It Goes without saying that Haynes manuals have been very informative and helpful throughout my adult life. Everything from cars and motorcycles to UFO's, A Very well Referenced and published book on the subject.

Fairly detailed Haynes manual
Fairly detailed as are most Haynes Manuals and seems factual however can't say much more as I just did a quick skim read of it as it was bought as part of a Christmas present for my brother so don't want to bend back the pages too much like it's second hand or anything!

classical ufo explanations
Understanding the explanations of UFO's and alien or extra terrestrial encounters, this manual continues throughout the book to constantly "debunk" the theory that "we are not alone" Interesting but not convincing
