Higher quality replacement for 1599500.020
The strain kit is a perfect fit and replacement for the cheap plastic model 1599500.020. It's much higher quality and solid metal. And it's also cheaper than the garbage plastic one

Does the job, I guess. VERY LOUD.
This drain was required for the American Standard tub I bought (which was pretty big). My contractor said I really didn't need an extra-deep drain, but he could still use it. I can't remember if the top overfill drain faceplate came with this drain (it's not pictured) of if it came with other fixtures, but it came cracked and needed to be replaced (cosmetic, not functional). It drains well, in that it works, but I have NEVER had such a staggeringly loud drain in a tub before... super loud choking, gulping noises. Maybe it's my overall home plumbing or the drain, I have no idea, but it was almost alarming. I just closed the door to the bathroom and it's not annoying or anything, it just kind of took me by surprise. The "toe kick" drain took some getting used to, but it works. I haven't had some of the other complaints other reviewers are noting.So... it's a drain. It drains. Not particularly exciting, but... it's a drain.

Fit perfectly with good instructions!
Installed a new drop in tub which required different drain plumbing! I was a little apprehensive about it fitting but it fit like a glove! Thanks!

It fits great... after some modifications.
I ordered this because it's the only drain to fit the tub I bought. It was brass, thought it might hold up for a long time, although PVC is fairly forever proof too. The issue I had was the overflow pipe would not fit into the T-fitting, not at all. I sanded the OD of the overflow pipe first thinking that if I took a little of it would go. To no avail. Didn't want to take too much off, the pipes already pretty thin. I ended up taking a Dremel and honing out the ID of the T with a little drum sander tool. Now it fits and should work great. I just think the customer shouldn't have to be modifying parts out of the box to use them. So if you must use this drain set up because it's the only one that fits the fancy tub your wife bought be aware, you might need to do a little extra sanding.

Expensive and doesn't fit properly!
Ok, so we bought american standard bath tub and this drain was recommended for our model. First, it was very difficult to buy this drain as it usually sells in US and delivery to Canada was not available. We found it here, thanks Amazon! This drain is super expensive but we need it so fine. When installing, our contractor realized that he needs to get rid of a part of it to fit in out tub. At the end of the day, we could've got different brand, much cheaper that would fit better, what do you know? Well, lesson learned.
