This microphone has been so nice for being freed from the regular microphone and stand. The reduction in flute wind noise is very noticible and cleans up the amplified sound really nicely. I think this is because the system is designed specifically for wind instruments. The easy ability to adjust the volume right from the unit is handy too. By the way, I highly recommend that you get a wireless guitar system with transmitter and receiver to use with this microphone system. There are many good choices on Amazon for under $40. You will never go back to cables and wires again!

I received a Myers Grip 6 pickup and was not familiar with external pickups at all. Myers Support page on their website has AMAZING, short and sweet, easy to find and follow videos that address any type of issue you may have in setting up your pickup! I was very impressed with the simple foundational things that I did not know that the videos contain.My pickup was a year old, there's video on battery replacement. RESULTS: Easy!I wasn't getting full range or tone from my instrument. They have a video specifically for correctly placing and mounting the pickup. RESULTS: I had full range of tone after watching and following that video!Lastly, I wasn't getting the volume I thought I should from my amplifier. Well, that ALSO has a video specifically for that issue. I got a lesson in impedance, tested a couple of things and realized that the pickup was working exactly as it should. (I ran the pickup directly into my PA using a 1/4" to XLR cable and I heard this pickup perform in a way I didn't know it could. It sounded amazing.) A short trip to GC later with picking up 2 low cost items suggested in their video for my particular situation and the RESULTS: FULL RANGE and TONE WITH VOLUME :-)I had a bit learn, Myers's Support Page had all of the answers in the form of short and sweet videos, and they were just a few clicks away! I love what I hear from this pickup and how it performs. Highly recommending to my fellow musicians.

5 stars for the Myers pickup I purchased for my alto flute. It's not even noticeable when you're playing, it's so light weight. I had an audio-technica Pro 35 horn mike. It worked fine on my sax, but never did on my alto flute. I couldn't fix the problem of it picking up my key noise, the popping sound when you close a tonehole, very annoying!So now I use the Myers with perfect sound pickup, nothing but music coming from my speaker!John Clemmer, Ret. This was the problem: how to hear myself (and let others hear me) over the trumpets, trombones, drums, etc. in my small jazz ensemble. After some searching, I bought the Myers pickup and it has been a godsend. I attach it my flute head, hook it up to a small amp, et voila: I get a great sound, great volume and, since the pickup has a volume knob that hooks onto my pants pocket, I can easily adjust the volume. I've been using this pickup for two years now and it has worked flawlessly. What's also really nice is that Gregg Myers and his company offer exceptional customer service. It's always a pleasure to support small, excellent enterprises like this one.

This product is what I am waiting for for a long time. It came as expected, ready to use right from the box. It is very light and transportable. Now, I don't need to use microphone to play in church
