Only lasts a month or two before lid lock failure
Really thought this would last longer but after talking with the GE answer Center this seems to be common with GE lid lock switches only lasting about a month or two and then having a lid lock failure I have gone through to lift lock switches on my washing machine am I machine is not even a year old yet if you have to replace one of these within a few months of owning your machine or a technician has to come out replace it after owning it a few months definitely would not recommend getting a GE Appliance

Also works on GTW465ASNWW
This also works for GTW465ASNWW. I figured I'd add this to the comment section just it case it will save someone some time. This switch is normally open, and you want to test continuity on lines 3 and 2. 76 ohms is the reading I got on both my bad and my new lock. The new lock works, so there is something mechanically wrong with the original one. The reason why I suspected the lock is because it wouldn't lock or unlock every time, and I was also getting voltage (24 volts) from the wires that plug into it.

Arrived Defective
I was very displeased to receive a defective Locking mechanism. I've had issues with my GE Washer for a while. I replaced the locking mechanism in August of 2018 (with this same part) and had no issues until about two weeks ago. When it failed, I ordered the same part (again) only to receive this defective part. Contacting Amazon Customer Service allowed me to return the damaged product; unfortunately, that added another two days until I could have my washing machine running again. Ordered replacement, which has since arrived and been installed. Leaving this honest review based on my experience with the one that came in first.

Fit great, easy to install.
I bought this in my quest to fix my modern washing machine. It would stop in middle of the wash cycle and not drain. Running the diagnostic tests brought the lid switch code up, so I replacedit to see if that was one of my problems. I replaced the lid switch and also the drain pump as it was leaking from a manufacturing defect (a month out of warranted, of course), and my machine started working again. Don't know if the original switch was bad, but this one works. Was really easy to replace.

Exactly what we needed
Our washer was not locking therefore not working correctly, I was worried that we would have to buy a whole new machine but luckily my husband said it was just the lid lock that wasn't working. After checking the manufacturer # online and finding it here on Amazon. It arrived in 2 days and he popped it in and it started working again. Installation took like 2 minutes and we are one happy family!

Best value for the dollar.
I am so glad I found this online. Was so easy to replace, took about 10 mins. Saved a bunch of money over paying a repairman. This was the replacement switch for my Hotpoint Washer Machine. We had a load of laundry in when we found out it wasn't working, washing machine filled with water then stopped working. Found it was this door locking switch needed replaced. This replacement was the exact same one that was in there. Now it works just fine again.

Not sure whats wrong
I don't know if it's my washer or the lid lock part but it doesn't last long. Always when doing towels. I think I am on my 3rd replacement of this part. I've only owned my washer 2 1/2 years. I mentioned to my husband we should order a spare one so we didn't have to mess with switching washers around. We have my old washer still. We didn't and the part went out. We order 2 parts this time. I contacted GE and they are sending me the whole part where this goes. So hopefully I won't be ordering this again.

It fixed my washer
So my Ge washer would not lock so I was not able to wash my close so I took out the old lid lock and replaced it with this one and it started working again👌. I had called to have it fixed and they were going to charge me 89$ just for a diagnostic not including the part but i just fixed it for 24$ so I am happy thank you Amazon .
