Outstanding Quality, Beautiful and Great to Use
These are really great chisels. The steel looks to be of top quality and is beautifully ground. The edges on these mortise chisels are dead flat, and the bevel tip is ground perfectly flat. The tip definitely needs to be honed upon receipt, as I think is typical of all chisels. The handle is very comfortable - long and well shaped (6"). The leather shock washer between the steel and the handle is a nice touch - not sure it's necessary, but is indicative of the quality. I think these will be really nice to use for a very long time.

Well made and comfortable in the hand. Sold at a low cost. I'm happy with it.

Really nice
A really nice product and handy to have on hand. I have power tools to accomplish the same task but sometimes it's nice to have the hand tool as well and be able to have a genuine handmade product when I finish a project.

Too expensive for the quality
I received the chisel in the mail last week and was very disappointed. I expected that I would have to sharpen the tip when I received it, but I was very disappointed with the product Crown shipped to me. The tool was a total disaster. The edge was not just dull, it was all frayed and dented like it had been thrown around the shop before they sent it. Not only that but the sloped edge they put on the tool was completely crooked! I had to fully resurface the tool first thing. Like I said, I expected I'd have to sharpen it but this was too much. It's like Crown just didn't care about the quality of the product they were sending to me. I will absolutely purchase my tools from a different company next time around.

Excellent Mortice Chisel
Honed it to a razor-sharp edge and cut a beautiful mortice in a piece of gnarly white oak. I am not a morticing expert, but love that I cut a clean mortice without a problem.
