Effective summary & key notes for student
I bought this cliff notes for my daughter who was struggling with her honors English class. It helped immensely in giving her the key points to focus on before reading the assigned acts for class.

Good Background Info
As a teacher, this guide gave me some good background information on the play itself, on Shakespeare, on his theatre, etc. Naturally, I read the play from our text, but as I told my students, there is nothing wrong with using a study guide to clarify certain points/language issues, for additional information, for study aides, etc. However, they were still expected to read the original play from our text.

Great Guide
This guide is concise yet comprehensive. It's impeccably organized, making it the perfect companion to the full play. I especially like the feature in which obscure Elizabethan words are defined at the end of each section.

I bought this for my freshman daughter. Just like CliffNotes from my time in high school, these were great!

For Stage Play
Used to train actors for Romeo and Juliet. The review gave actors insight into their character and the word list helped to identify hard to understand vocabulary.

Worthwhile!
This short book delivers much information on Romeo and Juliet, exactly as it claims. This includes a short biography of Shakespeare, a synopsis of the play, a scene by scene analysis with a glossary of difficult or obsolete words, character analyses and two brief critical essays. The public targeted is no doubt of high school level and the book is short, to the point and easy to read. The points of view conveyed are conventional. The playwright’s intent is seen as valuing true love in this story of a thirteen-year-old and a sixteen-year-old meeting Sunday night, marrying secretly Monday afternoon and both committing suicide Wednesday night.
