Store rubber stopper in safe place to use at the end of growing season. Removing the stopper will allow water to properly drain from the Countryside planter. For additional soil aeration, add a soil amendment such a perlite, small stones, or clay pieces to the bottom—and up to 1/3—of the container. • When deciding what to grow in the flower box, check the planting instructions for the specific plant species. Follow the directions and, if planting multiple seeds or seedlings, place each plant the recommended distance between each plant to allow enough space between them to grow • Position the flower box in an area that will receive the recommended amount of sunlight per the plant’s instructions • Add potting mix to fill the container up to 1" from the top • Water accordingly and often, especially in mid-to-late summer, high-temperature months. • Although the Countryside Flower Box Planter is frost proof and can survive the winter, to promote longevity of the containers, we recommend moving plants and containers indoors. Either insert rubber stopper on the bottom of the planter and grow your plants indoors; or empty the flower box of any residual water or dirt, clean with warm soapy water and store in dry area.

Nice Planter for the most part-update
As some time has passed since planting my flowers & the soil getting wet you can see from my picture that the planter does begin to “buckle.” The durability & sturdiness of it overtime shows it lacks both. I feel it’s still a 4 star for what I paid. I’m extremely careful if I have to move the planter, which I do if I’m getting too much rain & I don’t want the flowers being overwatered. Just a heads up. Next year I won’t put so much soil in it now that I know it’s not as sturdy as I thought.Original review:Overall I’m happy with this 36” Flower Box. I ordered the Terracotta color. The plastic is #5 polypropylene which is BPA & I’m happy with that. It’s durable but once fully planted if I want to move it, it will wobble, so it’s not fully sturdy. This is where I wish it wasn’t so lightweight. There wasn’t one flaw to the color. I have 3 geraniums & 3 ivies planted in mine. I’m happy with the outcome. The dimensions are accurate at 36” long with the bottom being 33” long, the depth is 6-1/2 “ & the width is 5-1/4.” What I’m not thrilled about is the drainage holes. It comes with 2 small holes where the plugs can be removed. That’s it, only 2. Then the bottom shows markings where 2 more drainage holes can be drilled. It was my assumption there was more than 2 small drainage holes, therefore I fully planted it & wondered why it wasn’t draining properly. This is when I realized this issue. Why not put more than 2 small drainage holes in it? The 2 markings shown to drill holes my husband did after I had already fully planted it. He drilled 2 additional holes for a total of 6 so it truly would properly drain. This was my issue with the planter & the fact that it’s too lightweight. For the most part I am happy with it. A heads up on my 2 issues which I hope is helpful if you do decide to purchase. I feel the $23 I paid was worth the quality of the planter I received. I do recommend despite the extra work for a planter with flowers for the outdoors.

Purchased this to use as an insert, to place inside this wooden box my husband built. It does the job, we will see how well it holds up. (And yes, I still have to paint the wooden box) once the soil and plants were in it, it was very heavy. Three little boxes may have been a better way to go.

The product is perfect for my needs
Using the product as an outdoor garden . The product is perfect for my needs: light weight for easy moving , sturdy as it holds my bulbs perfectly and the price was reasonable.

Flimsy
The included plastic wall strengthener is useless. While trying to install it, the plastic tabs broke off. I took a piece of electrical wire, about 12in. in length, and just ran it across the middle of the planter boxes two holes and wrapped the ends to secure it in place.

Accurate description of product!
Made of plastic, not terracotta earthenware as I expected. Similar item can be purchased anywhere in UK for about £5. Why would I purchase this from America for over £38. I want to return it but postage will cost £27.00!!

Very happy with this purchase
I was a little hesitate buying these after reading some of the reviews but decided to go for it. Bought 4 of the 36 inches and I didn’t have any issues any of them, no discolouration or scuffs and they are pretty sturdy as well. I’m very pleased with my purchase.

Quality poor but ships on time and it will do the job.
It was a good size for what I needed. If I had bought locally it would have cost half or less. I only kept it because of convenience with shipping. Also had a few grey cosmetic only scrapes.
