Pleasantly surprised
Just got home from a 5 day fishing trip.We were extremely happy and satisfied with the espresso and the ease of use of our pixapresso. We were able to make many espressos with preheated water. It does use up a lot of battery power when using it to heat the water. But in a crunch, it can heat up water pretty quickly and efficiently. And make several drinks before needing recharged. The picture shows my whole setup. With the nespresso pod knockoffs, we were able to fill with our own coffee grounds and also very happy and satisfied with the results using those. We also used the ground coffee option, which was also just as enjoyable. The stand I am using for our Pixapresso was purchased separately and the sticker received with the pixapresso was used to put on the stand to customize it. All the accessories were purchased through Amazon as well. Being able to customize the filter to accommodate 16 g of coffee was primarily the reason behind purchasing this particular portable espresso maker. This is the only portable espresso maker I have used so unable to compare it to how others might perform. The charging cord provided is extremely short, but it is a USB -C, and we always have many of those types of cords laying around. There are 2 other color options available, but not on Amazon it seems. I would have preferred the Olive green, but it's not a huge issue. This is also very easy to maintain and keep clean.

Best Portable Purchase Ever Made
Amazing product I make espresso anywhere..lol At my desk at work etc. I use blonde espresso from Starbucks and this portable 20 bar espresso machine makes the most delish espresso. easy to use but it does take like 3 mins to heat up and dispense coffee so it is not going to make quick espresso shots like a regular machine at home would But it gets the job done and produces nice crema as well.

Works mostly great.
I have my good, and bad moments with it... It mostly works great, some time it does not meter the water properly and I will have to start my brew from zero. The water heater helps, but it can only make a few coffees with the water starting from room temperature, less than 4 per charge depending on the water quantity. So if you can't count with an external source of hot water, or a good batter charger, you will run out of battery on your third or fourth double espresso.I had a problem with my pod adapter not breaking the foil evenly, and they replaced the part under warranty.Good use, car trip where you have access to the charger. Not so good, bus trip without access to an charger. Bad idea, backpacking/camping for multiple days without access to a good charger.

Todo muy bien desde el pedido hasta recibirlo
Excelente! Cumple perfectamente lo que necesito para un viaje y poder disfrutar de un expreso. Me resultó más rápido si utilizo agua caliente.

Disappointing
Purchased 6 months ago. I thought this would be great for travel and using it in the camper with the Nespresso pods. On the first 10 brewing cycles I got 8 great cups of coffee. Two brewing efforts failed. On the second 10 brewing cycles I got 2 great cups of coffee and 8 brewing failures. The system has difficulty puncturing the Nespresso pods correctly and this got worse overtime. Tried several different pods but this didn’t make a difference. Seemed like a great idea/great tech - but it didn’t pan out.

I'm shocked, shocked I tell you!!!
I'm shocked. The first shot I pulled I expected to be bad or mediocre as I dialed in the correct dose and grind. It was really pretty decent. The next four shots were very good! I'm not sure how a machine as small and basic as this can do that! I'm sufficiently pleased with the results that I bought a second one. Yes, I know, I don't NEED a second one. I just like the idea of having a backup Pixapresso, just because. And... since none of you people reading this review actually know me I don't need to be embarrassed about it :-). Espresso is a rabbit hole, a deep rabbit hole. Don't ask how many other espresso machines I have...

Wait for v2.0 if capsule capability is important to you
This is the third espresso maker from Wacaco that I have purchased. Frustrating that they keep missing the mark. A little bit more real world product testing and subsequent redesign and they would have a home run. Here is the major problem with this item that is shared by the Nanopresso and probably other models in their lineup: The "waffle iron" that the thin foil of the coffee capsule is pressed against is not deep enough and/or does not have sharp enough edges to reliably penetrate the foil. As a result, many espresso-making attempts with capsules will end up as "duds." The hot water bypasses the capsule on the outside and the machine gives up after a while, leaving your cup with just some murky hot water and half of the water left in the machine. When you attempt a re-do with either the same capsule or a new capsule, this then highlights another problem: Due to the thermal expansion of the plastic screw-on capsule holder, it becomes almost impossible to unscrew until it has sufficiently cooled. I have tried multiple brands of capsules including, of course, Nespresso brand. I have tried tightening the capsule holder for varying amounts. I have tried pushing the coffee capsule in firmly after placing it in the holder and I have tried placing it loosely in the holder. Results are the same: Probably 1 out of 4 end up being duds, and you have to wait for everything to cool before trying a second time. The Nanopresso had this exact same problem with unreliable foil penetration. I also have an Outin portable espresso machine and it does not have this issue. I purchased this Pixapresso because it has a pressurized portafilter, which the Outin does not, and that makes it better for using pre-ground coffee. I was hoping to have one machine that could do both capsules and pre-ground coffee, but I'll just have to use the Outin for capsules and the Pixapresso for ground coffee. Which, by the way, the Pixapresso does outstandingly. It can make a double or lungo easily and has a larger water tank than the Outin. If you are never going to use capsules, then this is a great machine. But, for version 2.0, I would also recommend: Change the charging graphic to a standard flashing charge remaining. It is possible to determine this with the current display, but only after watching it closely for several seconds. Unnecessary and time-consuming. Also, the startup graphic display is unnecessarily cute and time-consuming. I don't need for my coffee maker to wink at me; I need for it to start making high-caffeine beverages IMMEDIATELY.

Ease of use.
It is very simple, and if you use the NP pods clean up is a very easy thing. Heats water very well and makes a tasty brew. I travel allot and stay in places the coffee is not great so now I can make my own! Love it!

Love the convince of good coffee on the road.
Performs as expected. It's very useful to have this in the backpack when I'm on the road. The fact I can make expresso on the road is very reassuring.Neat well thought out package. Simple to use.Materials feel very premium.I like that all you need fits inside the water chamber.I opted for the travel case. It holds 6 Nespresso pods and an extra head and barista towel.Note: Definitely try and source hot water. It helps with the battery.

Disappointed – Becomes unusable after short time
Unfortunately, my experience with this product has been very disappointing.During the first 2–3 uses, everything worked fine. However, with continued use, a serious issue started to appear. When using capsules (I always use original Nespresso capsules), the coffee chamber becomes vacuum-sealed after extraction. As a result, opening the capsule compartment becomes extremely difficult and requires a lot of force. It feels like the device is stuck under pressure, and even after letting it cool down — sometimes even waiting until the next day — it is still very hard to open.Because of this issue, the product has practically become unusable after only about 5 months of purchase. A coffee machine that cannot be opened easily after use is simply not functional.
