Repeated channel shutdown made this amp unusable for me
I tried the OSD Nero XMAX-11 for about a week in my home theater (11 channels, external processor, multiple subs), using RCA connections. My unit had a serious problem: the AMP 8/9 module repeatedly shut down during movie playback, especially during dynamic scenes — even at moderate levels (around –10 dB on a Denon X3800H). Once it shut down, the channel stayed dead until the amp was fully power-cycled, which strongly suggests a protection fault. I swapped speakers, inputs, and wiring, and the problem always stayed with the same amp module. All other channels worked normally. In practice, this made the amp unusable in a multi-channel system. A few other notes: -The front display backlight is always on. You can turn off the meter, but the backlight stays lit, which is distracting in a dark room. -Customer service responded, but replies took several days. -Amazon’s return was easy, though shipping a very heavy amp back wasn’t fun. On paper this amp looks like a good value, but reliability matters more than specs. I ultimately returned it and went with a Monolith 11X that has been completely stable. Bottom line: Based on my experience with repeated channel shutdowns, I wouldn’t trust this amp in a serious home theater.

Xlr good, rca bad
No power chord included. 12v trigger chord included, but only about 12 inches long. All hookups done with power off. Tried rca hookups first (KImber pbj interconnects). One channel had mild hum but no music. Second channel had music and a LOUD hum. Channels 3,4,&5 played music with a mild hum. Was ready to send back, but decided to try xlr cables which arrived the next day (Mogami/Neutric). First, covered the rca’s with Cardas rfi caps to block the hum. Music now comes from all 5 channels, no hum, and integrates well with my Vincent SA-500 integrated powering my front Klipsch Heresy main speakers and RSL-12 sub (7.1 system). It seems OSD has perfected the class H amp for home theater use when utilizing xlr hook-up only. The rca hookups are as useless as tits on a boar hog. I’ve decided to keep this unit anyway.

Good but not great
I purchased this item thinking I was going to get 210 wpc, then after receiving it I overlooked that is 210 wpc at 4 ohms. This is only 145 wpc at 8 ohm across all channels. I will keep this amp to power other height speakers. I just purchased an emotivia xpa4 gen 3 that is 4 channels 260wpc at 8 ohms. I need the power to help drive 2 pair of bose 901 series sixes. the loudspeakers need the power. 145 wpc is not enough as i can hear the clipping when turning up the audio as there is not enough power to drive the loud speakers. Decent amp for the price to help drive the speakers that can't handle the power like the 901s need and can. Be mindful what you are purchasing.
