Beautiful and moving
I could not put this book down - it is a beautiful portrayal of family, love and how family life is not perfect. It is a complicated and made up of broken pieces of all of our history that makes a mosaic: Not perfect and held together by love.

Great book
The Things We Cannot Say is a beautifully crafted novel that weaves together the past and present with poignant emotional depth. Kelly Rimmer masterfully tells a story about love, loss, secrets, and resilience — all wrapped in the harrowing backdrop of World War II.

Moving & inspiring
Such a wonderful love story, but tragic in every single respect. Perfectly portrays the horrors and suffering of war, with startling revelations gradually revealing what actually happened when Alice goes back to current day Poland.

Lessons from history.
The story of deep love, suffering & how humans rise above it all & find a purpose & inner strength to survive is amazing. Sadly events in our world today are no better . We can see daily similar suffering on our television news. Life is precious our world needs to thrive & survive. Let's hope it does. A wonderful book. Thank you.

Beautifully written story
Beautifully weaves together the stories of different generations of the same family, capturing the horrors of life in Nazi occupied territories in the Second World War, the struggles to survive then, the struggles of modern family life today and the triumph of the best of humanity over the worst. The book touched me deeply and will stay with me I wept buckets at the end!

4.5 WOW
Heartbreaking in all the right ways.I'd highly recommend this for anyone looking for WWII setting. This book had the perfect amount of holocaust atrocities that are often left out in other wwii books. It's awful, yes, but books in this era need to shed light on the horrors. This book had a perfect blend of everything you'd want in a wwii book
