Could I use this for wax?

Hi, I’m not familiar with working with wax but as long as you use a release spray like with resin I’m sure it will work the same.

Mine did not come with instructions. I have never done resin items before and i dont know where to start. Do i need to buy anything else?

So these are just molds. You need resin as well. There are many different brands of resin. Some are poured at a ratio of 1 to 1 while others are 2 to 1 or even 3 to 1. I personally use the 1 to 1 as it is easiest for me. I would start with a small batch so you can learn how to mix and use it. You can add mica powders, acrylic paints, or alcohol inks to the resin to color it. Once you have it stirred all the way you would then carefully fill the molds. It takes 24 hours for most resins to cure. There is also going to be air bubbles so you need a way to get those to come to the surface. You can use a heat gun, creme brulee torch, or spray it with some isopropyl or denatured alcohol.

The checkers are about a quarter of an inch thick.

Wunderschöne Formen

Ich habe mir dieses Set mit Silikonformen für Schachbretter, Schachfiguren und Dame-Steine bestellt, um sie mit Epoxidharz auszugießen. Ich bin absolut begeistert von dem gesamten Set!Die Formen lassen sich super verwenden und das Schöne ist natürlich, dass man damit unendlich viele verschiedene Sets anfertigen kann. Ein echtes Highlight ist die mitgelieferte Farbe. Die Farben sind richtig schön und haben einen fantastischen, edlen Glanz. Besonders das Grün hat es mir angetan: Wenn das Harz ausgehärtet ist, sieht das Ergebnis einfach aus wie ein echter, funkelnder Smaragd! Das wirkt unglaublich hochwertig.

Chess pieces are shiny and will purchase the set again!

For starters, the mold was shipped in a flat box that protected. I’ve made two boards and they’ve turned out wonderful. The chess pieces are also easy to work with and for reason they are easier to unmold than some other sets that I have. They are shiny which I love. The lines are the board are thin so it does take some patience and going slow. But get creative. On my third set.

Da artigiana che lavora spesso con la resina, ho analizzato questo kit con occhio critico. Gli stampi sono di un silicone di buona qualità, con una finitura interna lucida che riduce drasticamente i tempi di post-lavorazione. Pro: I dettagli dei pezzi degli scacchi sono molto nitidi. Anche i pezzi più complessi si sformano senza troppa fatica. Contro: [Inserisci qui se hai trovato difetti, es: la scacchiera richiede molta attenzione per livellare bene i colori]. Consiglio tecnico: Per i pezzi piccoli, versate un velo di resina e passate uno stuzzicadenti nei dettagli per liberare le bolle prima di riempire lo stampo.
