In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.

I ordered the wrestling shoes late on a Thursday and received them on Monday. The shoes look incredible... very sharp looking. My son has not used them yet (next week) but he was happy with the appearance of them and how they felt on his foot.

Awesome Shoes!!!
I've had these shoes for over a year and I absolutely love them. I box and do MMA, and these are great training shoes. Not only are they super-cool looking, but they are very lightweight and the zipper in replacement of laces is very convenient. I gave this product 4 stars instead of 5 because when I first got them, the material that goes across the top of the shoe connecting to the zipper was a bit tight and it was hard to zip up the shoes all the way for awhile, but after maybe a week or so of using them the material loosened up and now I have no problems with zipping them up all the way or with comfort. The only "problem" I have experienced while using these shoes in my workouts is that when I do my kickboxing, sometimes the zipper hiding under the velcro flap will hurt me if I kick the bag too hard. I typically use these shoes when I know I will be just boxing or doing MMA without a lot of kicks. If I know I'm going to be doing a lot of kickboxing that day, I use my Asics Matflex shoes (which are also great). All around I have to say these are great shoes. I might not recommend them to someone who has what you would call "fat feet", because the zipper won't allow for a whole lot of give like laces do, and you might end up breaking the zipper trying to stick your big foot in there, but if you are a medium build to slender athlete I would say go for it with these shoes. They're awesome!

Wrestling Shoes
These shoes do not hold up very well. The velcro strap came unsewn after being wore in three matches. I do not think they are worth what I paid for them.

Fine Shoe for Narrow Feet
Slick looking shoe runs narrower than any other shoe my sons have tried. Zipper front makes on/off easy but also seems to constrict the width. Beware, even if your foot is a medium width.

Good shoes
I wanted to buy some new wrestling shoes for my last year in high school and I wanted to buy some wrestling shoes that no other wrestler in the team had, I got to say these look fantastic but they do have their drawbacks like for example they wear out too fast, and maybe its just me but I couldn't move as well as with other wrestling shoes, on the ankle part its too tight and its very displeasing when you wrestle but overall good shoes.

Excellent
I bought these shoes for my son because we were having a hard time finding shoes to fit because he has wide feet. They fit perfectly and he loved them!
