Staub Cast Iron 6-qt Cochon Shallow Wide Round Cocotte - Matte Black, Made in France

I will update this review after some use of the product, but right now I have given it five stars because you can tell that these pieces were made with quality and care in mind. The cocotte looks so nice, I might just leave it on the counter for everyone to see. Definitely looking forward to using it for the first time :)

This piece is both beautiful and functional. The finish is perfect for searing meat before braising. The interior is easy to clean and won't stain. I can't comment on the durability, since I've only had it a short time; however, I am counting on it living up to the Staub reputation. The graphite color is stunning, and the little pig knob adds a touch of whimsy.

Built to last a lifetime! Super heavy duty. Great for braising meat to perfection and its beautiful. Expensive and worth every penny! This is one of those times you are getting something great for your money.

Fit and finish is without any discernible flaws. Cochon knob was a nice value add. Easily an heirloom gift for any kitchen that knows the value of iron.

This is one of the most beautiful pieces of cookware in my kitchen. It is also one of the most used. It works well both for stove and oven cooking. I especially like the self-busting feature of the lid.

wouldnt look at the video and send me a new one.I am disabled and cant get around outside of my home easily. The rep from staub wanted me to take this big 7qt pot to the post office, pay for shipping and then the would determine what should happen from there. I asked for a postage and pick up from ups which they agreed to. Although I'm not sure when this will take place.Though I bout the pot last year and didn't want to open it until my new house was built, Dumb! I should'vechecked it right away. However, as these competitive work horse pots are presumably superior to others like it, this one was clearly defective.AND once I return it they will refund my money (I got a great deal on it) so now I wont be guaranteed a pot of the same look, size or cost. so frustrated.. I tried uploading the video of the pot and lid not fitting one another (steam can escape from 2 places from the pot. the lid teeter totters on the misshapen pot)

Like it for making crusty bread and soups it is difficult to cleaned black spots outside the pot and lid.

I needed this for a Sunday roast and despite the few bad reviews I took a chance on it. It arrived perfectly put together with no chips or dents. I love it and it’s my new favorite pot!

This pot arrived damaged because the pig knob & screw were loose in the pot itself . It was returned. However Amazon did a stirling job & refunded us quickly. They still get 5 stars because of this service & I will continue to buy Staub through them.
