Quality Hood at an Unbeatable Price. Quilt users MUST HAVE.
For any quilt users this is an absolute MUST.Such an amazing value. Extends the warmth of my quilt substantially.I have an Enlightened Equipment Revelations 20F bag. With out the hood it is comfortable down to 40ish, 35F is the cut off point where it becomes too chilly to get a good nights sleep in the back country. This hood had me sleeping in Idaho and Montana in my car with no heat at 26-28F.This hood makes your whole kit more modular and versatile.-Put it on in the morning while taking down camp.-Throw it on while hiking in the morning/evening for some added warmth without taking your pack off- Extremely light can be paired well with all clothes for an unbeatable warmth to weight ratio.- Roll it inside of itself and wear it as a hat (Check youtube for a video)- Stick your head through the face opening and use it as a neck warmer-Use it as an eye mask at night when urban boondocking - just tighten up the face opening until your eyes are covered, essential for restful sleepThe face opening is big as is the inside of the hood, which is good and bad.The good part is you can slide your head through as long as you aren't Hey Arnold (Shout out 90's kids) to use it as a neckwarmer. The bad part is when you wear it as a hood it can slide down your forehead and it can be annoying to constantly pull up.If your head is small/you don't have much hair there can be an air gap between your head and the back of the hood.Quick fix - wear a ball cap underneath, the bill will keep the hood from falling.I am looking to sew in a cord that runs from around your ears to the back of your head, similar to how Arctery'x adjusts their hoods. This should keep it from falling down and also provide more warmth as there will be less of an air gap.If the manufacturer is reading this, please consider adding this 3rd adjustable cord that runs from around the ears to the back of the head, it would take this hood from 5 stars to 6.Overall, I love it and I always take it with me into the backcountry.

Can't complain it's real down and it's 20$. Works ...
Can't complain it's real down and it's 20$. Works perfectly with my REI down jacket .My only recommendation is if you use it to probably also have a ball cap on to keep the hood out of your eyes.

Paired with aegismax tapered sleeping bag
I recently purchased the aegismax tapered sleeping bag and paired this hood with that bag in mid 40 degree weather and I was comfortable. The hood is comfortable against skin, blocks light wind, doesnt smell, and packs down to less than the size of a soda can. It's very light and has draw strings on the face and shoulder openings. I like how my face was warm, but I could breath freely. I get claustrophobic when my face is covered when I sleep. Also like that I can pair with a hoodless down jacket in a pinch. Seems are not perfectly aligned, but that's not important to me.

Really impressed, will buy another for me this time.
I got this for my guy for Christmas for winter camping. Especially to wear while sleeping in tent or under hood of his big winter coat.Pictures on sight do not do this justice. I was so hesitant to buy. But was very impressed. This is super soft material, good quality and not all plastic looking like in pics. It's super warm. SO COMFORTABLE. This is for a average to large man sized head to fit properly. It's big and roomy. But I want one for me, a women because you can tighten it into place. This will be perfect for all seasons in the N E for camping as it gets cold sometimes even in summer. Protects your neck well too. Stuffs down so small to toss in a pocket. Breathes. This one is a no brainer. Got black.

Excellent sleeping bag 'hat'
Ok...things this is NOT...a hat you would wear if you are outside skiing, shoveling snow or if you are looking for any kind of down hat or cap for things like that. What this IS is a down filled, light weight, compress-able sleeping bag 'hat'. I'm 6'2" and even with a long bag, in the early spring or late fall and occasionally in the winter if I sleep in a sleeping bag, inevitably my head ends up poking out of the bag. I have tried wearing a traditional winter cap/hat and find they fall off or uncomfortable to sleep in. Tried this and it does the trick. It is roomy, soft, definitely WARM and works exactly as intended. Drawing the face closed does cover my eyes but circles perfectly around my nose and mouth making 'hot breathing something I don't need to worry about but keeps my head, ears, and rest of my face toasty. The neck cord does allow you to snug it up as well and if I can suggest only one thing, it would be to make the neck/cape portion of it longer so it falls longer to the shoulders than this. but still, this little hat does the trick. It came in a stuff sack and if you wanted to , could compress it even smaller but at the size of 2/3 the size of a pop can, it weighs next to nothing and for the space it takes up in a pack, is worth the comfort it brings on a cold night.

Plenty light, plenty warm, plenty roomy. A little hard to keep the face in place.
Light enough for ultralight backpacking, and the quality seems fine. Almost instant warmth when you put it on. The drawstrings on both neck and face allow a degree of control. I got it to pair with my UL quilt for cold weather sleeping, and I think it will be just fine. The fabric is similar to lightweight quilt or sleeping bags; I wouldn't crash through heavy brush expecting it to hold up to thorns. The size and design will make it a little hard to keep it in the "right place" on your face if you're wearing it during activity; the most helpful review I found suggested putting it on over a ball cap so the cap's bill will this where you want it.

toasty
First thought small and lightweight, but A Must have for survivial, emergency or just to keep warm. I was stuck in a rainstorm at 13000 ft...kept me hot and dry..so warm. But must have a ball cap to keep out of your eyes...overall ill get 2 more...90% body heat escapes from head and neck.
