The Walkabout knee brace is a 3.0 mm neoprene compression sleeve that is designed to support and stabilize the knee joint. This product offers excellent support for knee joint injuries, luxating patella or severe arthritis due to old age or chronic instability. The knee brace comes with a suspender which can attach to a chest halter. A chest halter is not included with this purchase but it is recommended to be used in combination with the Walkabout Knee brace. Fit is determined by measuring the leg and following the size charts. Try to measure as straight a leg as possible. If the injured side is swollen please measure the uninjured side to get an accurate measurement. The fit is usually determined by evaluating the measurements 1" above the knee. If the other measurements do not fit in that size category please email us your dogs breed, weight and measurements to help choose the best size. Notice: PLEASE MEASURE CAREFULLY 1" ABOVE THE KNEE FOR THE RIGHT FIT, PLEASE DO NOT SIZE DOWN WITHOUT CONTACTING US FIRST.

She also hated it. She wouldn't move when it was on
It was purchased to help my Greater Swiss Mountain Dog with what we thought was a partial ACL tear. It really didn't support the parts that needed. It was a very loose fit and yet I measured as instructed. She also hated it. She wouldn't move when it was on. It was all in all a waste of money for us. What was suppose to help her to move around more, made her not move at all. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (bone cancer) shortly after and passed two months later. I guess we can say we tried and did everything possible to give her help in the final months.

Best brace my vet has ever seen
My vet was so excited to see that this super reasonable brace was working- yes it def could be tweaked to be better- i will probably hire seamstress to shorten and secure the strap to the harness but this product is great- our 14yo medium sized lab snapped ccl- he had baaad reaction last time he had anesthesia so surgery is definitely not an option- we are going on 2.5 months and he is getting along beautifully with no added meds( he was already on rimadyl and the glucosamine chondroiton stuff)- wants to play ball , continues to counter surf like a champion... I dont think im exaggerating when I say this brace matched with laser and accupuncture has saved his life- I know he wont live forever but his quality of life is great because if the help of this brace and harness— for reference we got the m/l - im going to order a 2nd so i can wash it and i think im going to try the medium. Snug is what you want and tighter than you would think, they get used to it very quickly.

My dog wouldn't wear it
my dog acted like he was being punished.I've used a similar brace on my other dog and he wore it easily.we started by only putting it on him when we'd take him on car rides etc.that made it seem like a part of going bye bye.my other dog.. he's a bit touched .however, that might work to keep him still and let the leg heal. he's a high energy dog, when his ACL gets a tad better , he runs and we start all over. I've tried to keep him restrained. it's difficult. I'd use the brace to keep him still, but he looks like he's being punished.so? it's a catch 22.I can't blame the brace, and it's prudent as with all braces, even on people that you check for proper fitand that it does not rub or cause more injury. I've not had this problem.we have to be our animals medical advocates as they can't tell us exactly what's happening.hope all your dogs heal up quickly.

Very disappointing and my poor dog is still in pain
This was not supportive or helpful for my dog at all. It fit oddly even though I measured and followed their guidelines. There is an odd strap that goes around his abdomen and he was visibly bothered by it. It doesn’t stay on. It’s too small on the foot opening and too loose around the knee which is where he needed the most support. I just feel cheated because they charge so much and now that he’s worn it once just to try it on we can’t return it. Very disappointing and my poor dog is still in pain.

Order with caution.
This was recommended by my vet, but i am really disappointed. My dog is large 70 pounds and it doesnt help at all. I paid for expedited shipping and they only sent one piece of it and by the time i received both i wastwd my money on the expedited shipping. Honestly using a towel under her belly is so much more supportive and costs nothing. The towel takes the weight off the rear leg and helps so much morethan this brace. Maybe it is successful for a much smaller dog.

Not impressed
This product wasn’t what we had hoped unfortunately. Our dog had a torn CCL from being on prednisone since his diagnosis with cancer. This brace didn’t give him the support he needed. It didn’t fit properly even after measuring his body. I’m sad to report our pup passed away shortly after trying this product. If you’re looking for full support after an ACL or CCL ligament tear, and have a large breed dog, I wouldn’t recommend this.

Poor design and manufacturing
Does not stay in place or add any support. The adjustable strap that goes up the back to hold on is incorrectly attached. It does not lock into place but slide completely out of its own hardware. Very poor design and manufacturing.

Does not stay put or provide compression
I like the idea of a neoprene brace but this one missed it by a mile. Really loose and baggy even after measuring. It needs to be tight. Even with it attached to a halter it just slips off the knee where my dog needed the compression. I have tried everything to support his knee, but short of a full leg hard cast, everything slips off. I’m bummed and sending it back.
