Worked for roof repair!
I bought this to repair a leak in my roof (double-layer of composition shingles). This little bottle fixed my roof leak....plugged the hole that was most likely several loose nails not connecting fully with tar paper underlayment. I highly recommend this product to seal virtually anything. I diluted it per the instructions and sprayed on with garden pressurized sprayer two coats applied 40 min apart in dry weather about 45°f. I had tried 2 other liquid rubber waterproofing sealers, which doesn't work. I never write reviews. This is authentic and meant to help the next handy homeowner save some major $.

Great for our chicken coop
While you can spray this stuff on, I went ahead and carefully brushed it on our chickens 4' x4' x 5' ish cedar coop. It works, as we have had atmospheric rivers off and on recently, no cracks or leaks, water beads off even after several months of rain. Still have a bit left in the container for next year.

Product as describe - allow to dry!!
Product as described. Won't argue value on it in comparison to other products in the same category on the market cause personal opinion of their all over-priced is different then it being worth the value for the current market. However product worked well as intended. Can't argue that. Does require time to dry good and possibly two or three coats.

Easy to apply and effectively seals wood outdoors
I used this product to treat Douglas fir plant shelves that get wetted at least once a day. After a year, water still beads up on the tops. I also used this on cedar fencing and have seen no sign of termites, unlike my neighbors, literally all of whose fences are turning to sawdust. I didn't want to repeat their mistake since termites never stop in our mild climate (coastal southern California). I treated all of my wood with borate and then used this sealant to prevent the solution from leaching out. The fact that it waterproofed the wood was a huge bonus. The treated wood sun-bleached normally and doesn't look any different than untreated wood. This product and the small effort to apply it should more than pay for itself by extending my fence's lifespan, and I plan to do a maintenance re-coat in a couple of years. All in all, it's been well worth it.

A Good Product Let Down by Defective Spray Bottles
I believe this product will do what it is designed to do. Unfortunately, the spray bottle that is provided to dispense the solution is deeply flawed. I purchased two spray bottles of the Rainguard water sealer and both spray bottles are defective. The spray option only semi-works correctly when the bottle is held in a horizontal position to the surface you are trying to cover providing less than optimal coverage. If you dip the spray bottle even slightly the spray pattern falters and the liquid drips aggressively out of the spray handle. I eventually gave up on the spray and used the stream option and a brush to distribute the solution. This didn't stop the leaking from the handle, yet allowed me to concentrate more solution and work it into the grain of the plywood. Pro: - Appears to offer the advertised sealing and protection--according to the product instructions it will take 7 days to fully cure Cons: - The provided spray bottles are a detriment to properly applying the wood sealer - Spray bottle usage is frustrating and inhibits proper application directly contributing to the lower satisfaction rating Bottom-line: With extra effort, I was able to cover the intended wood surfaces. The product is expensive enough a better quality spray bottle should have been provided. I've saved a spray bottle and will contact the manufacturer to see if they are interested in getting to the root cause of the problem. I will update my review in a couple of weeks as to the performance of the sealer and resolution if any from the manufacturer concerning the spray bottles.

No odor, simple to apply. Does not raise wood grain.
I just coated a bunch of cedar beams with this product. I am going to use them as ground level edges to garden beds. I can't tell you how well the product holds up to sunlight, rain, critters, etc. yet, but I can say that the product is easy to mix, is simple to apply, has no noticeable odor and wipes up easily. It also soaked in easily and did not raise the grain of the wood I was treating. After drying, my wood was close to its original color, with some minimal darkening that I consider normal for clear surface finishes. Try using a foam brush to apply it if you are working indoors with it to limit the amount of spray floating around. I would also recommend NOT applying it in direct sunlight to give it a little extra drying time. About the only issue I had using it was that the bottle of concentrate that I received did not has the cap screwed on tightly, so a little leaked out in transit.

Very satisfied with this product.
Used the 2 gallon concentrate on my 5 year old cedar gate (12 ft wide). I used about 1.5 gallons with 2 coats. Sprayed with a 1 gallon pump weed sprayer then back brushed. It laid down perfectly with no blotchiness whatsoever. And no color change to the cedar. I know instructions say to spray vertical services horizontally but I sprayed vertically parallel with the boards. My gate now looks NEW. I did pressure wash prior to sealing. So glad I found Rain Guard wood sealer. Hopefully it will last a few seasons and I will be happy to do it again. And glad I purchased the concentrate; makes so much sense.
