Great buffer for a great price
Wonderful buffer. It accepts wheels up to 1-3/8 in. It comes with spacers for narrow width wheels. No problems with vibration or run out of the shafts. The shafts have flats for a wrench when removing arbor nuts, which is a nice touch. Plenty of power and no stalling. I mounted a hard felt wheel from Lee Valley on one shaft and stacked buffing wheels on the other for polishing and buffing. The low speed is wonderful to prevent destroying the temper of steel. Low speed should also prevent melting of plastic, although I'd experiment first. This is not meant to be used with grinding wheels as there are no protective guards or tool rests for that kind of work. However you could, I suppose mount a grinding wheel. I would say it would be a bit underpowered for grinding.Buy yourself multiple buffing wheels for buffing different metals with different compounds and don't mix them. There are also different styles out there with different stiffnesses for different uses.

Great value buffer
This buffer works fine seems sturdy and switch operation is crisp. A good deal compared to prices of similar long shaft low speed machines. And I don’t know why people complain about the 11/16 arbor standard 5/8 wheels fit fine they are only .05 smaller but slide right on. A bit snug is always better that sloppy with buffers and grinders.

Great unit!
I use this with red and blue compounds for polishing brass parts for musical instruments. The slower speed is perfect for my needs, though it’s a tiny bit underpowered. It has, nonetheless, done everything I’ve asked of it so far. I’m very pleased with this unit as anything more powerful usually runs faster speeds and/or costs twice as much.

Smooth running buffer
I have used this to buff and polish trim on a car. It has been getting some long buffing times with no problems. It runs true and smooth but does get a little warm after long periods of operation. I have noticed it making an unusual sound on startup lately but it doesn't seem to effect the operation. All in all I am pleased with it.

Excellent buffer for knife makers
Purchased this Buffer for knife making, The lower rpm was needed to keep from taking the temper out of the blades. The buffer is whisper-quiet running, No vibration and the RPM is definitely for anyone who does knife making or even woodturning.

GOOD PRODUCT
Very well made solid unit. Finish of buffer is excellent. Was going to buy a larger unit (more money) but for occasional use I chose the Rikon. It's light weight is a plus to move around. It did not bog down as some reviews stated but I didn't try to buff a car bumper. Highly recommend for the home shop. Extremely smooth running.
