I used an old flannel sheet, Queen size. And the pattern worked great. The hooded cape is easy to make but if you don’t use felt, you will have to hem it but this isn’t difficult.

This only works for 72 inch fabric.
I have been sewing for 50+ years. This is the first pattern I have seen that will only fit on 72 inch wide felt. I bought this to make for a 2 year old. I had 3 yards of fabric. This pattern will NOT fit. I had to order a different pattern. I called the company. They could not possibly have cared less. I would not use felt for a cape, it wouldn't lay right.
