Fujifilm 16440745 X30 Leather Case (Black)

I debated over this case and the other one which is about half the price of this Fujifilm product. I don't like shooting photos with a camera case attached, so for me, the purpose of this case was to carry and protect the camera while walking around and not shooting photos, or to protect it when traveling. To actually shoot photos, I wanted a case I could easily remove from the camera, and which after shooting, I could easily put the camera back in the case. This one works perfectly for that purpose. I decided I didn't like the "other" case available because of the hardware on the bottom of the case, and because the camera seemed to be screwed into the case itself, thus making it hard to remove the camera quickly. This case has a post inside the bottom for positioning the camera (fits into the tripod hole), and then the cover folds around nicely and hooks with a magnet—again, easy open and close. I suppose if you dropped the whole thing perhaps the magnet closure might come open, but frankly, I'm not worried about that possibility. The leather is a very nice quality with good construction, and the fit is perfect and snug for my X30. The strap is OK (but not great), but is adjustable so I can wear the case cross body style for more comfort. I hooked the strap onto the case, and then on my camera, I attached a small wrist strap (love the Olympus one) which I use for when I'm actually shooting photos as it guards against dropping the camera. For me, the only negative about the case is if you attach the filter/lens hood for the X30, the case no longer fits because the part of the case that covers the lens is too small and snug to accommodate the lens hood attachment, which flares out a bit. I don't think the other camera case would cover the lens hood either, though, so no difference there. All in all, I'm very pleased with this case. I was pleased to find a brand new case here on Amazon from a seller who had it $20 cheaper than anywhere else I saw, with quick shipping as well! I do think the full price of this case is rather excessive, but didn't want to take off a star because I was judging the quality and construction of the case, not price. You can be your own judge on price.

It ads bulk with out protection or usability. I have (naturally) a Gordy's leather strap on my camera and purchased this case as a slim standalone, or as a case that would fit into another, larger, case. This works, but it ads a fair amount of heft to the camera, makes the camera unusable, and when you do not use the included neck strap, the bottom half can fall off due to the fact that you cannot screw it into the mount. Really with I could return it now...

This is a great camera case.

Love this case! The only even remotely bad thing I could say is that there isn't an "easy access" port to charge, but I am so in love with the case itself, I'll let that one slide.Well worth the money spent. You get what you pay for with the cheap-o cases. This one rocks.

I bought this and somehow overlooked that the "leather" was not real leather. I am not happy with it because the strap is riffed of after few use. Very bad quality. I would not recommend.

Great leather case the only thing I don't like is the case has a flap to replace the battery but doesn't have a flap to plug a usb cable into the camera. To connect a usb cable from your camera to a computer you have to take the case off the camera which isn't a major problem it's just time consuming.

Very well-made case. Fits like a glove. Was looking at generic cases to fit this size of camera, was glad to get this one instead of a generic one.

The fit and finish is very good and it's nice to be able to access the battery and SD card compartment without removing the camera from the case.

You have got to protect the camera. And the X30 is so sweet and retro, you need the right case. This is it. I'd probably have bought it in brown leather if available. It is by fuji for fuji. Glad I went for the quality.

I feel retro cool using this. It adds next to no bulk to the camera, but makes it so easy to toss into my shoulder bag and protect the camera from scratches. A must purchase to go with the camera.
