The Swisher ESP Safety Shelter has undergone and passed testing at the National Wind Institute at Texas Tech University. The ESP Shelter has been tested and withstood a total of 9 impacts from 15 lb 2x4’s traveling at 100 mph. These impacts are equivalent to the force produced by an F5 tornado with 250 mph winds. In addition it meets or exceeds all requirements put forth by NSSA, FEMA 320 and ICC-500 standards. ESP (Emergency – Security – Preparedness) Safety Shelters (ABOVE GROUND ONLY) offer the ultimate in multi-purpose protection and security for you and loved ones against violent acts of nature and multiple threats posed by man. THIS SHELTER IS NOT WATERPROOF. Each ESP Safety Shelter is verified to be in compliance with the National Storm Shelter Association Standards (NSSA). Each ESP Safety Shelter will meet or exceed all ***FEMA P320/P361 and ICC-500 Code requirements*** when all installation guidelines are met (step-by-step installation checklist is provided with each ESP Safety Shelter). All Shelters have been designed by Registered Structural Engineers and have undergone a rigorous Third Party Review process. Made in the USA ESP Safety Shelters will withstand the most extreme tornado activity and offer a “safe zone” against home invasion offering critical minutes for emergency assistance to arrive. Statement from FEMA P-320: “Having a safe room built for your home or small business can help provide “near-absolute protection” for you and your family or employees from injury or death caused by the dangerous forces of extreme winds.” Near Absolute Protection definition from FEMA P-361: Level of protection afforded to the occupants of a safe room built according to the guidance in the most current edition of FEMA P-361. Our current knowledge of tornadoes and hurricanes indicates that safe room occupants will have a very high probability of being protected from injury or death.

The walk-behind whacker that COULD be much better.
Received this whacker from Amazon a couple weeks ago. Exactly as advertised ( I guess).Arrived in a shipping box (around 80lbs), very little assembly required. Swing the lower half of the handle up, pivot up the upper half and tighten bolts. To adjust handle height (angle with whacker) there are two bolts/nuts to be loosened & tightened. These adjustment bolts fit into the SLOTS cut into the whacker lower metal box frame. There is NO easy adjustment of handle height / angle. Requires two wrenches each time you want to make an adjustment. No problem, but not real easy. Get it right and no more adjustment needs unless there are OTHER operators.Engine starts easy, runs good, plenty of power. However, BE AWARE that the whacker head spins ALL THE TIME that the ENGINE IS RUNNING. You have ONLY ONE CONTROL at the handle, run or stop. There is no way to 'disengage' the whacker head from spinning except to turn the engine OFF. The engine throttle lever is located on the ENGINE. Start it at 'idle' setting, let it run a bit to warm up (always holding the bail to the handle, and the spinning nose off the ground). Then push the throttle to 'rabbit' and you are ready to WHACK. This model is NOT Self-Propelled, so you have to PUSH it. Not a real problem, the unit is light-handling unless you encounter something that one of the rear wheels will not easily run over !!!!!!!!!!!And THERE lies the problem with this unit (and all similar 'push-type' units). The 14-in dia wheels are HARD and unforgiving. EVERY little ground irregularity stops the wheel, even a twig less than 1/2-in diameter. RIDICULOUS. If the area(s) you plan to 'whack' have any minor size irregularities, stones, ANYTHING .... you will find yourself 'horsing' the unit around just to keep it progressing forward. Pathetic wheel / tire selection by the manufacturer, but it looks like the competition uses the same. KEEP that in mind. In fact, maybe borrow or rent a unit (any hard-wheeled, push type) for a day. See if it will be usable for YOUR needs. I didn't do that, however ....... ... My plan is to purchase two pneumatic tires and wheels and adapt them to the unit (running the tires at a low, friendly pressure), tossing the original wheels/tires. My next review will include the results. Conclusion: Best 'PUSH' whacker out there for the price. Once I replace the original wheels/tires, it should be a pretty user-friendly machine, maybe good enough for a 5-star.

Cheap Materials, Poor Design, and Poor Assembly
Added May 17, 2014 .. Swisher customer service agreed to refund my money and Amazon agreed to credit back to me. Outstanding customer service and warranty service as neither Swisher or Amazon had to do that under the terms of their warranty or service agreement. Swisher needs to correct their defects in manufacturing and materials but at least they took responsibility and Amazon went the extra mile as well .. thank you to both for working with me to correct this problem and getting me back to cutting grass and weeds!!Added May 14, 2014 .. SEE MY PICS of broken frame .. used less than 1 week and the frame which is made of sheet metal bent into a U shape broke in half and the cutter head fell off on the ground. The cutter was just getting ready for it's first oil change. What a piece of junk .. a motor, two pulleys, a cutter head, and two wheels and Swisher still can't get any of that right. Actually the two pulleys and the belt did work correctly. The motor won't start when hot, the cutter head fell off, and the wheels are cheap and wobbly though.I have used other brands of these wheeled trimmers and the Swisher is a dog and that is being unkind to dogs. The quality of materials is poor and the design is Russian in that it works but not with any ease or grace. The assembly of mine was poor as the dead man on the handlebar has never worked so I must jerk the plug wire to stop the engine. The safety cover protecting the belt from debris and you is held on sometimes with cheap plastic push in holders that never hold. The handlebars are too small, too light weight, too flimsy, and must have cost $2 to make. The head where the cutter line attaches is designed poorly compared with other machines from other makers that I have used. The Swisher is between difficult to impossible to restart once it gets hot. So if you lose a cutter line and pull the plug wire to stop it as I must do on mine to stop it and after replacing the cutter line and reattaching the plug wire and then try to start it .. no go .. it has to cool off before it will restart. This is a major accomplishment in an era of electronic ignition systems .. Swisher has reinvented the hard to start engine. The "button" on the bottom of the cutter head is too small and will dig into the ground. Besides being too small the button that keeps the head from digging the lines into the ground is useless as it is too short so that you must use the flimsy handlebars to keep the lines from digging into the earth and this is very tiring. The tires are cheap and wobbly. It does cut when you have it running but the effort and labor involved is significantly greater than similar machines I have used. I thought all of these machines were the same but I was wrong .. the Swisher is significantly inferior.

buy a regular weedeater/my back hurts!
starts okay/handles are way too short even for a 5 foot six man. handles come with bolt in hole so that handles wont adjust for angle. I put them in the adjustable hole. If the handles had a bend upward or were longer, this might be a good buy. as is, boy my back hurts from bending over so far. Harder to use than a push mower. I will try to extend the handlebars with some metal tubing. I purchased some Arnold 109 professional line on a 600 foot roll. It cuts better than the 155 line that comes with this weed eater. it wont cut brush. I have a $3000 brush cutter for that. Buy a regular weed eater instead of this THING. I could have bought a Stihl for what this cost. My bad

Shisher Wheeled String Trimmer
This is a well made unit. The only gripe I have is it is not all that easy to maneuver, however, once you gett the handle bar set at the right height it is a little better. I think if I were about 50 years younger it would be easier to use! On the plus side it came with everything you need - even oil and Stabil. I took on some very tall grass and it went through it in fine fashion.

At least it was delivered in a UN Crushed box this time.....
I have a bad back and a regular hand HELD weed eater was heck on my back. I decided to try this version of a weed eater and I love it, for the most part! It is NOT good in areas where the tree roots are above ground and it does not work well in tight places... but I do really like the way it works in most of my yard. I am n widow now so I have to do all the work in the yard and in and around the house so I am glad I found this Weed Trimmer. It has saved my back many hours of pain. **** 4 stars.

Swisher ST67522BS Standard String Trimmer
Swisher ST67522BS Standard String TrimmerThis item came on time and was what we expected. I like the machine however the spring on the machine broke after using it several times and has to be fixed. We live in Florida and have many saw palmettos to mow around. I would give it 5 stars if it wouldn't have broke

Not really satisfied with this purchase !
Several issues with this trimmer. First of all, right out of the box, after following instructions and filling the oil and gas, the trimmer would not start and on the first pull the starter line cord would not retract into the housing. I was ready to ship it back at that point. However, I needed a trimmer so I took the recoil apart and manually rewound the cord. After a few more tries I got the trimmer running. It came with two cords, the first one lasted five minutes before it broke. This is my third line trimmer over a 15 year period. This swisher is the worst one I have purchased. I do not like the offset of the cutting head , I am constantly fighting the unit to make it go where I want it to go. The wheels are not wide enough or high enough and do not do well on any ground that is not completely flat with no pot holes.
