Initially loved it, but...
I initially was very impressed with the quality of this jacket. It was comfortable, had great protective padding, heavy and strong leather, venting on the back and shoulders, plethora of pockets, and so on.However, the sizing completely threw it off for me and was very disproportionate to what I expected. I am usually between a size Large or XL (most of the time XL because I enjoy the extra looseness), 5"11 around 200lbs. It fit comfortable while standing wearing it, the length was just right, and the sleeves were just a little long but nothing too significant (if you have short arms avoid). But the neck and shoulder area was ridiculous. Anytime I'd sit or bend, it would be bunched over and constantly hitting and irritating my neck and helmet to the point of it being unwearable. For this reason, it would make it incredibly annoying to ride on a bike and just look plain stupid on it. I would have considered exchanging for a large, but they don't have it in stock, so onto another jacket. Also, it had an incredibly strong smell and odor upon opening that almost engulfed my entire house and gave me a migraine, even after airing it out for days. Not sure if that's normal, but it drove me nuts.

... that is what I do at DoD for the finest military folks ever
Reviews on Clothing and Textile items are work since that is what I do at DoD for the finest military folks ever. Well there I make sure everything is made and tested to exacting specifications and from specified materials. The jacket was delivered on schedule. The packaging was a large flat double wall box so the jacket was not folded. The jacket was sealed in a good quality sealed plastic bag. After visual inspection i did not find any open seams, broken stitches or excessive untried thread ends. All fasteners operated freely. The lightweight quilted liner was a little tricky to unbuttoned inside the sleeves due to the diameter of the sleeve there is limited space for you hand to unlock the buttons. The leather quality is substantial and had consistant grain throughout the body panels and sleeves. The jacket was obiously designed by a experienced rider. It's great to have the shoulder intake and back exhaust vents on a leather. Looking at the past reviews they must have upgraded the design because there are many specialty pockets even a long skinny knife and an inside waist padded one for you pistol packers. My Note 3 in a Otterbox fit easily in many of the pockets. The highly reflective trim stripes do a fine job. All the padding aligned with the intended body parts. The break in is no issue not that mine is fully broke in yet. Dimensional fit 5'6", 160 lbs my medium jacket fit perfectly. For the sleeve length the cuffs hang halfway down my thumb knuckle standing off the bike but on the bike it pulls perfectly to the l I were wrist. I sit sport touring upright and slight tuck now and then and with the sleeves zippers up the added air flow up and out the back can be adjusted on the go for changing weather temperatures. So in conclusion a outstanding design and quality for a true value price.

The Bloodaxe leather jacket by Viking Cycle is a great jacket that exceeded my expectations
The Bloodaxe leather jacket by Viking Cycle is a great jacket that exceeded my expectations. It has great airflow via two shoulder zipper vents and two back zipper vents that create significant airflow through the jacket. I've worn this several times now here in Las Vegas, with temps ranging from 105-115F. There is a multitude of pockets to help carry everything you need, plus some. A tablet pocket that also does great holding gloves, sunglasses pocket, and a very useful pocket on the left forearm for quick access to your wallet, business cards, or cash. The fit is solid, just make sure you use the measuring guide that Viking Cycle provides! At higher speeds there was some excess-flapping in the arms, and lower sides, but it was pretty minor. The only issue I have ran into so far, was that I use a Sena S20 and when I had the shoulder vent open it kept puffing up and adjusting my volume or pressing the dial on the Sena. This was especially bad if I was moving my left arm around. I do motovlogs and so I talk with my hands and in turn, kept having issues. However this is nothing against the jacket, just a conflict of accessories. The one thing I would have liked to have seen was a snap over the main zipper at the top, but thats personal preference. Lastly, the sleeves feel a bit long when casually wearing, but once on the bike with gloves, they are a perfect length on me.Overall I love all the features the jacket offers. More pockets than you know what to do with, it fits great, comes with CE rated shoulder, elbow and back armor, and feels heavy duty. This outweighs my prior leather jacket significantly, but when wearing it you don't really notice the weight. I'm loving this jacket and am really looking forward to when it gets cooler out to wear it more!
