Secret Seven Complete Library (book set)

I ordered these for my 6 year old grandaughter who is a very good early reader. She is working her way through them diligently! These books are an excellent way of encouraging children to read. As always, Enid Blyton captured a child's imagination and there are no parts of any of the books that a parent would be concerned about. I loved the books when I was the same age. They arrived in time, are in good condition, and well worth the money. I would thoroughly recommend them as a popular present.

My grandaughter is 8yrs old and needed something exciting to read, she has just started on this series. She says 'it is great granny, I take a torch to bed and read it under the bedclothes'!! can we all remember this - it speaks for it self. I am giving them to her 1 at a time instead of sweets and chocs.

My children are enjoying these stories so much and they easily are at the top of the favourites pile! My son is already more than halfway through the series and he said that he thinks they are great for bedtime reading. Children love these timeless classics and mothers who like reading to their children will love them too =)

I enjoyed these stories as I was growing up, and reading them now with my 8 year old son I find them a very dated and repetitive. But he loves them, he works out the clues and wants to have adventures and a clubhouse and..... I as he talks to me about them I find myself transported back to when I first read them and wanted my own secret club.... As a bonus, they are written in "correct" English so he can read them without falling into bad grammatical errors, American English, or misspellings....

Good Xmas pressie for grand kids

If you haven't read the Secret Seven before, this box set is a fabulous place to start. Even if you are reading as nostalgia these are another dip into the world you would have known when you first read them. For children whether the stories are read by them or to them this collection is a fantastic choice - as my children say, the stories are really 'more-ish'. The stories are also written without violence or anything scary taking place. These books are a gentle read just right for anytime of day or in-particular, bedtime.

Was a gift for my granddaughter. I read the series to my children and they enjoyed them so I am sure she will. She is 6 & a half and therefore I feel that is the right age to appreciate them. Her dad bought her the BFG? series of books but she is too young for them. I hope to buy the famous five in the future which I too think she will enjoy. My order arrived very quickly and it appeared in good condition and well packed.

My 7 year old devoured the books. I could see him reading these with the same intensity that i did some 3 decades back!. Absolutely fabulous!!

J'ai acheté cette série avec la ferme intention d'apprendre l'anglais. Certes ce sont des livres pour enfants mais quel plaisir de constater que peu à peu j'ai délaissé le dictionnaire et ne l'ai consulté que pour des mots tout à fait nouveaux. J'ai fait de beaux progrès et j'ai presque fini la série (il ne m'en reste plus que 2 à lire). Auparavant j'avais commencé par me plonger dans la littérature anglaise et américaine mais je ne m'en sortais pas : l'usage du dictionnaire était incessant, je retenais peu de choses : j'ai donc abandonné. Je me suis dit que seuls des livres simples au vocabulaire de base destinés aux enfants pourraient m'aider à consolider mon anglais. C'est efficace et je suis ravie. Je vais poursuivre dans cette voie avec quelques séries enfantines encore, puis, je passerai à une ou deux séries pour adolescents et je pense que le tour sera joué. Dès lors je pourrai m'attaquer à la littérature et le plaisir sera complet. Je vous ai fait part de mon expérience, alors si vous souhaitez vous mettre à l'anglais ou à une toute autre langue : n'hésitez pas à lire des choses simples qui consolident les bases même si ce sont des livres pour enfants. Il n'y a pas de honte à cela, bien au contraire. Le plaisir que j'en ai tiré ne se situe pas dans la découverte de l'histoire (comme le ressentirait un enfant) mais dans le fait que j'ai pu lire et comprendre avec précision l'histoire dans une langue étrangère de bout en bout.

Read these as a kid. Love the stories so my kids can enjoy them as well but quality of the paper its printed on could have been better.

The books are great, but my set has book number 9 missing and 2 copies of book 11 instead
