Must have for long exposure photography work!
I love GOBE’s ND Filters. I have a large assortment of them, but the ND1000 is always a lot of fun to pull out to create super dramatic long-exposure shots. These filters are top notch quality and have rivaled any of the “expensive” ones I’ve bought. After using these for over a year I’d recommend them hands down!

Works well
This is a good 10 stop ND filter. My photographs frequently have water as part of the subject. This ND filter allows for long exposures and does not add a lot of color cast so the colors I develop in the image are natural looking. The filter threads on easily, snugly and it stays put. It is constructed well and comes in a great protective case. The foam in the case holds the filter snugly but has indentations that aid in your fingers being able to grip the lens to remove it from the case. This is important to me because I often will be changing filters in the field in areas of sand, mud, water, grass, forest floor etc. The lens stays put in the case and doesn't fall out and yet it is easy enough to remove when I need to add the filter in a hurry.

Great of waterfalls.
Great for waterfalls. I would suggest getting mutiple shades of tint for different lighting situations. This one is very dark.Picture:F/5.6Shutter speed 15 sec.ISO 100

Good buy, great cause!
I was looking for a good affordable ND 1000 10 stop lens filter and was glad when I found this one. I thought it was really cool to buy something I needed for my bag and plant trees....Reading the reviews I found many people complaining about picture quality; I didn't have an issue there. I found minimal vignetting, no problem shooting in live time or live composite (using Olympus OM-D) and the colors are great. The attached photo was taken in the afternoon, in Florida, and in harsh sunlight; in live composite- 2 sec x 24; over about four minutes. Using the Gobe ND1000, I was able to give the pond a flat mirrored look and you can see some tracers of light along the tree line or light painting effect that would look awesome at night. There's no issues with color change or image quality- the higher contrast is intentional. However, the filter is a little rough to screw or secure in place- it feels gritty and sounds rough- it's not as smooth as I'd like; overall, it's a good buy for the money, the cause is great, and it enhances photos while making it possible to achieve longer exposure.

Color Intact no noticeable vignetting
I didn't do proper conversion with shutter speed so my final image with filter on was underexposed.I also took too long to screw in the filter so the sun brightness was going down as well.So I had to some editing to make exposure similar.I don't see any color shift or vignetting. The only con is difficulty screwing it in but for the price, excellent filter! They send lens cloth as well as bonus!Nice little filter case as wellFirst Photo is filter off and second photo is with filter on.

Great filter, just not for videography
I wanted to get an ND filter to use while filming on those bright sunny days when you're overexposed at anything less than F16. However, this is much too powerful for video work, but would be perfect for long exposure photography as other reviewers have mentioned. When I got the filter, I stuck it on my lens and took it outside to see how it worked. No exaggeration, the image was pitch black on a bright summer day in full sunlight even at F1.4 and shutter 1/60. I had to push the ISO up to 1600 to get it properly exposed, but then you're adding grain which isn't desirable. Still giving it 5 stars though because it works like it should, just doesn't fit my needs.

High end quality on real budget
I was researching for a while to find a good ND filters for my landscape photography and in my budget. You can find some filters to be extremely expensive and others to cheap. This filter is in the mid range, but I can tell you that the quality of the filter and construction is like the high end expensive filters. Gobe has three options of filters for beginners, semi professional and pro photographers. Those are classified beginnersGobe Peak1, semi pro Gobe Peak2, and Gobe Peak3 for pro level so these options help you to chose according to your experience.I really like this filter and I’m adding two more from Gobe. Another thing that I really appreciate from Gobe is for every purchase they plant five trees. Nice gesture guys!!!

Very Dark ND Filter
I had my first chance to make use of this filter today. This filter allowed for and in fact required MUCH longer exposure times than two seperate Android Apps calculated I would need. That's a good thing by the way if your in the market for a 'ten stop' ND filter.Images produced had little to no color cast; Another good thing for an ND filter that I'm fairly certain is much darker than specified here. I made sure to use a custom white balance profile which likely helped in this area of performance.

Long Exposure
I've been stung before by cheaper end ND filters claiming to be all singing and dancing. Off you go to try them out and the colours are off and everything is hazy. So I wasn't holding my breath when I ordered this one. The other Gobe filters seemed to get good reviews and I liked the idea of a few trees being planted with every order so I took a gamble.Very Impressed.Comes in a nice little sturdy plastic padded box to keep it safe with a cleaning cloth.Product looks well made and screws to the lens with a quality feel to it. No haze or soft shots with this filter. As long as you've got your settings right you will have no problems at all.I have a fuji x-e2 and I find it exaggerates the white balance issue. So in Auto White Balance bright sunlight shots have a blue tinge. Inside a more yellow hue. However this is so easily fixed by setting your WB accordingly. Set to shade and the blue goes etc etc.I have to point out it is a very minor issue and I've had bigger colour problems with with far more expensive filters in the past. The trick is (with most filters) don't use auto WB.Once you've realised this the shots have natural shades and hues and I've yet to notice any issues. A real quality filter shooting above its price point.Really happy and I will look at Gobe filters in the future.

Terrible colour cast
I've used various nd filters for a very long time. Ranging from hoya to b+w and lee filters.Purchased this after seeing good reviews and good price. (my last filter which was a pricey 77mm 10 stop nd filter from b+w was stolen.)I took it to new forest last summer and decided to use it for seascapes. Put it on my Nikkor 24-120 F4 FX lens & D800 combo. Tried various things but had no luck. No matter what I did, every single photo had a very strong colour cast. Now, this totally ruins it for me. No matter how much you can get rid of using processing (and I am a keen and competent user of Photoshop and Lightroom) I can't see myself using this filter. (Apart from producing B&W photos). Not sure why other reviews are all 5 stars and no mentions about colour cast! If I got a bad copy then this review should not be taken granted, give it a go but make sure you don't pass the return date period if you get colour cast and bothered with it too. It's a shame I could not try it as soon as I ordered. Lessons learned.

Fun in the Sun with the Gobe ND 1000
Had some shooting-time in the sun and the Gobe ND1000 16 Layer ND filter came in very handy.Perfect exposure in bright sunlight. I took multiple long exposures, Sky, Mid and Foreground then merged in photoshop and developed in Lightroom.Brilliant piece of kit.Pros:Vey well madeRobust and easy to attach to lensCrystal clear exposuresHigh quality GlassJust as good as my Tiffen ND Filters (which are very pricey).Cons:None that I can seeTip:(1) Do buy the largest diameter for your biggest lens then use cheap step-up rings for your lower diameter lenses.(2) White balance has always been an issue with ND filters and the more stops the more blueish/purple it becomes. I chose daylight or shade for the WB from the camera menu and always adjust in post (Lightroom, Capture, etc) so it really is not a big deal and very easy to correct.Great buy - Great Amazon Seller...

Good quality filter with green credentials
I have been after a decent 10 stop ND filter for a while and this one was recommended to me. I had never heard of Gobe before but since my budget couldn't stretch to Lee and I wanted something better (and bigger) than the Cokin I had been using I decided to give it a go. The filter comes in a protective tin inside a light card box. You get a small, good quality cleaning cloth also in a cardboard sleeve. In addition you get the pleasure of knowing that several trees are being planted on your behalf in endangered areas of the world. You have to register on their website to do this, and to be honest, it's a bit of a faff.Getting back to the filter. It seems to be decently made, screwing on my 82mm Sigma lens thread without cross threading or sticking. The quality is first rate and the ND10 rating seems to be quite accurate. See the attached pic for a result. Gobe do a small range of filters in various sizes, 82mm being the largest, all screw in. You should buy the biggest size you need and invest in a set of stepping rings rather than go for any of the smaller sizes. This is a good filter and I have no hesitation in recommending it.

Great ND filter, Great Value
I hadn't come across Gobe until recently and I wanted to give them a go in comparison to other well known brands. I cannot stress that if you are new to long exposures to research how to to appropriately expose to get the best results. The filter does, like most filters give a slight colour cast but this can be rectified in post processing and helped by choosing the shade white balance in camera.
