Kempf Tire Link Mat 18 1/2" X 28"

I've used these mats for 40 years, seems like they last that long too. I gave this one to my friend who has a painted sidewalk which can be slippery when wet or icy. This mad does not slip !

We first purchased the smallest size for an outdoor location at our mountain cabin. The tire link mat is effective for cleaning footwear. It allows the porch below to dry out quickly (unlike other types of mats). The design is handsome, and the mat is durable. After seeing this in use at the cabin, we're buying two more for our house in town. The design is evocative of the ubiquitous tire mats of the 1950's, but the product is superior.

Received this item today, similar to a couple of older worn tire link outdoor mats have here at the house. Differences in description of what advertised: 1) actual 17" in x 26", packing slip 17 x 25", advertised 18 1/2 x 28", if slightly smaller size matters to some, 2) no straight outer edge as pictured, instead edge is rotating tire links, similar to these mats already had, 3) actual brand Durite instead of Kempf.

Good product for the back door. Made from recycled tires. Good value. Stands up to all kinds of weather and abuse.

My Mom had a mat like this 50 years ago! It worked great!!! Not the prettiest mat on the block, but high functioning and easier to keep clean. The pretty mats get globbed up with pet hair and I can sweep and sweep to clean, but the fur just moves around. These mats also have an open construction to allow the porch to dry up underneath rather than staying damp for many, many days. I bought 2...one for the front and one for the back. They are heavy duty and should last for a really long time.

If you want to keep debris from getting into a drain then cover it with the Tire Link Mat. Water flows perfectly past the debris into the drain. It's also good as a door mat when the mat is in a place that gets lots of water. Water is never trapped in the Tire Link Mat.

I bought one of these several years ago for myself, having had one many many years ago in another life. I love it. Especially good for scraping off mud/dirt. I bought another one last year as a housewarming gift for my son. Mine will last me the rest of my life...I will leave it to my daughter in my will! :-)

We had one of these at home when I was a girl, so the look brings a bit of nostalgia home for me, but let's face it, it's utilitarian looking at best. Functionally however it is the best door mat ever. It never wears out, scrubs snow, mud, etc from your shoes, and does not accumulate debris. I have one at our house, and just purchased one for my dad.
