Mattel Games35th Anniversary Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots Game (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

I was very, very happy to be able to get this game. My husband has been complaining for many years about how his mother threw out his Rock Em' Sock Em' Robots. Well I gave it to him for Christmas this year and he just beamed. He was grinning ear to ear. This game brought back a piece of his childhood (he's 68). He spent many hours playing against the grandkids, our son, and other family members and me. It was very enjoyable for everyone. And the other nice thing is that it is a brand new game in a box that looks a lot like the original.

I got this for my great nephew for Christmas. he absolutely loved it. It is sturdy and made to last. I would recommend any Mattel product

Game was fairly easy to assemble. The kids enjoyed using it. Great value for the price. Very satisfied!

My four-year-old grandson has had a good time with this; we weren't expecting much, I bought it because we thought the Rockem-sockem robots in Toy Story II were funny, and I knew he'd laugh when he got one. He did, and has enjoyed it.This works OK, seems reasonably well-built, and has withstood some pretty serious pounding. It's not necessarily a perfect toy, but who would buy one of these for that? It's a silly little game, that's good for some lighthearted fun, and a good copy of a classic game from way back.

January 23 2010. I just received the Mattel Rockem Sockem Robots game yesterday. I am quite pleased with the quality of the version available of the classic 1966 Rockem Sockem Robots game. Everything looks just like it did when it first came out in 1966. Assembly of all the required parts was relatively simple. The robots themselves are smaller than when they first came out but nevertheless, they are identically detailed to the originals. I've seen some of the negative reviews about the robots not staying put on their pedestals and the ring ropes not staying put. After putting this newer version to the ultimate test, I found that everything held up quite well and the ring ropes never came off (not even once) from the retention holes. When assembling the robots to the pedestals you must make sure that the two tabs on the tips of their feet must line up with the pedestal slots and then to finally push down on the back heel of the foot to properly lock the feet in position. The robots never once popped off their pedestals while under use. It's recommended as stated on the box that an adult should assemble the components together to achieve the best performance. Overall, I loved this game as a child when it first came out and I love it again with Matell's latest version. The newer version is definitely recommended.

Very pleased with the toy. Told my son I had one when I was his age. I am very happy he's getting a chance to experience it. I was also very happy with the service, it arrived as predicted.

Present for my husband to take him down memory lane, he loved it. I'm so glad I chose to buy this gift for him. All bits present and in full working order. I would recommend this present as I had a brilliant reaction when it was opened. He could not wait to play it and was laughing his head off all through the game. Good for all ages I would think, men are never to old for fun.
