This product works great except for one fatal flaw - the receiver inside the machine has no battery backup to remember being paired to the remote. In order for the device to be paired with the remote it has to have power from the USB header on the motherboard, which means the computer has to be at least connected to power. So you have to install the receiver, connect the computer to power, and THEN press the pairing button on the receiver inside the computer to connect it to the remote. If the receiver loses the power its getting from the motherboard (i.e., if you move the computer or have a power outage), it loses the connection to the remote. So you have to open up the computer again and press the pairing button the next time the computer is connected to power.So this is a great product as long as your computer never loses power, albeit a little annoying to get working. In a future revision I'd like to see a battery backup on the receiver so that it can always be independently connected to the remote. It will make installation and overall use much more functional and convenient.

This remote needs power at all times in order for it to shutdown and power back on and my older motherboard does not have power once it shuts down. So I ordered a "motherboard 9 pin to usb 2.0 adapter" and plugged it into a portable battery and plugged the other end into 9 pin interface. Then plug usb 2.0 plug into charging port of battery then plug usb cord from battery into usb port of pc. Then connect power pin and reset pin in motherboard as instructed in the instructions. This review is for the "ES02-USB, Wireless Remote" version. This is a GREAT little gadget. I bought it awhile ago, and just got around to installing it - I wish I hadn't waited.This is an old-school RF remote - just like your car's remote. There's nothing to pair, nothing to break, no drivers to install, and it will never fail you. It functions just like a real switch. It only needs power from USB - no drivers to install, apps to pair, or anything else like that. The remote works every time without fail as long as you're not too far away. It doesn't even have to take up one of your precious internal USB headers - it has a splitter so you can connect something else too.I originally bought this because my case doesn't have a reset switch. It works great for that, but the power button can be even more useful: in Windows, you can assign a few different functions to the power button, such as turning off your monitor(s). Outside of windows, such as when the machine is off entirely, it functions like the regular power button on your case.I used a sleeved USB extension cable to install mine so that I could hide the little device in the back of my case. It has some exposed pins and stuff, so I wrapped mine in electrical tape just in case.EDIT: I noticed some people here complaining about having to pair the remote, especially if they lose power. I'm not sure if they are using a Bluetooth version or something (*don't*! The RF one is fine, don't waste your money on a Bluetooth version), but, I lost power in my apartment today for about 6 hours. Remote still works fine, no pairing needed. I didn't need to pair anything when I installed it either.

Thought I'd add some information for this product. It works really well. Does what it is supposed.Installing is really easy. The female pins on the board need to be plugged into the USB header on the motherboard. It provides a splitter so you can still plug your case in as well. There are multiple angles too so it is easy to fit in most spots.The size is kind of big for my application but it is really just a small board that you put on your motherboard. I took a picture of it next to a ruler to maybe help others see how big it is.One thing I'd like to test eventually but is not all that important to me is if its signal interferes with other wireless devices on the same frequency. I would expect it to work fine but I can't comment for sure since I have no other wireless devices right now.All in all this is a really cool product that I am really surprised isn't more popular.

I love using the power button on the Bluetooth controller everytime I walk into my room. Its really satisfing, sitting down and looking at the window 10 lock screen and knowing you don’t have to wait for any loading startup. I still have the power bottom system setup just in case the controller loses battery. Overall this is a great project and add on to any computer. I’m using the Bluetooth controller for a mini ITX computer and compact builds are always really hard to do and finding add on for them can be frustrating, but this is definitely one of the best items to add to a computer if you don’t have a start up bottom on the IO.

It's perfect for my intended use, but..... boy, does it go through batteries in the remote control unit. I'm replacing the CR2 battery every 3/4 months it seems with little to moderate usage. Oh, and I had to purchase a special "T1" [I believe?] screwdriver to change that battery.There must be something else more reasonable to switch on my Home Theatre PC?cygordNote: After 11 mos it quit working altogether.Metro Vancouver, BC

El precio se veía algo caro debido a que es producto de importación, pero al final la espera no valió la pena. Tras la instalación, jamás reconoció las unidades de almacenamiento conectados a ella. No volveré a confiar en tarjetas de expansión de USB 3.0, prefiero renovar la placa base en su lugar con los USB 3.0 ya incluidos en su diseño.Lo devolví, no pensaba en usar esa opción. Gracias a amazon por permitir el servicio de envío con guía, me facilito mucho. La confianza es para Amazon México. Desde ahora solo comprare en esta plataforma, si el precio y la necesidad la ameritan.

I run an auditorium, and always hated the fact I had to go upstairs to hit the power button on the PC that shows the images in the auditorium. I have a remote keyboard, mouse monitors, volume, and projection...but for the power I still had to walk upstairs (the PC did have ps/2 keyboard start but I use USB keyboards, and using cellphones to trigger Wake-On-Lan was too difficult for volunteers to use). I love the fact I just have to go to the podium and hit a button to start the upstairs computer. The specs say 20m which is 65feet, I'm about 45feet/14m away from the PC.

Compre la versión que se alimenta directamente de un puerto USB2.0 y regrese la tarjeta pues pareciera que cada cierto tiempo hay que reprogramar el control para sincronizarlo con la tarjeta de expansión.No sé si es por que no tiene un chip de memoria que pueda aprovechar las ventajas de alimentación de la motherboard o quizás requiera de una batería en el PCB, el asunto es que cada 5 arranques hay que abrir el gabinete y rehacer el proceso para sincronizarlo.

I ordered 2 of these because I wanted to start 2 computers with one button. This worked perfectly. One problem I had was when I tried to setup one of them I could not get the button on the card to work. After looking at it carefully I noticed that the solder connection was not solid. I probably should have returned it but instead I chose to solder it. Now the are both working wonderfully.

Esta tarjeta es una de las mejores que que usado para añadir USB a una computadora.Si tienes una computadora un poco más vieja que tiene PCIe v2.0 o 2.1 no va a ser un problema porque ésta tarjeta solo necesita PCIe v2.0 x4.Para poder funcionar requiere que se le conecte el cable de alimentación SATA y se le pueden habilitar hasta 2 USB 3.0 frontales además de los 3 traseros (siendo el tipo C 3.1 segunda versión a 10Gbps).Lo recomiendo ampliamente.

Only issue I had with this piece was that the reset cables and their pins weren't fully assembled. For me, not a big deal. I only bought this for the convenience of being able to turn my home-theatre PC on/off from my couch (yes I'm lazy haha). Other than that, it works perfectly and I even just ordered another one for my friend's computer!

I'd give 5 stars for the idea, that's for sure. I only wish there were more choices out there for PC remotes. This one was a waste of 40 bucks. While I'm at it, Amazon should make the manufacturer more accessible, like eBay. I may have got some helpful technical advice. Probably not...they didn't respond to a single customer with problems.

After a few months I'm having problems with the wireless remote, even with a new battery I'm still not able to turn on the computer.

Perfect for if your PC is too far out of reach and you're too lazy to go power it on... But if your remote is also far away, well you're doomed....
