My Bad.
I am a beginner to cameras and have a Canon M50. I just do “walk about” photography and so I thought this lens was it. I didn’t realize it, but this lens is ALREADY a built for APS-C cameras, so you CANNOT use a speed booster on it and turn it into some kind of “super-low aperture zoom lens,” like I tried to do. Oops! Horrendous vignetting had! My bad!Even so, the lens would not communicate with my M50. I believe that other people who have tried this combo say it is quite glitchy even if you get a firmware update to make it more compatible..... so anyways I sent it back (and got another Tamron lens that needed an update, which I also sent back.)To Tamron: I love the idea of this lens. Super-wide to super-zoom. Here’s my challenge for you. Make another one like it that is #1 - Lighter . #2 - Has an (industry shaking) aperture range of like f/2 to f/5 or such . #3 - Is compatible without the need for so much firmware update technology. Your lenses are glitchy! Be more dependable because your optical quality is it bad!

Better Than Nothing When On A Budget
As expected, you won't get the sharpest images, especially once you are out of high-in-the-sky sun light. It's better than nothing. Just know you won't get professional quality images. It's not a total waste though. If you really want a large zoom lens and on a budget. Fair start here.If you can, go with the Canon 18-200mm. This 16-300mm gives you more "zoom" though.Does have VC (vibration control). In the picture, that's the lens fully extended next to a standard sized wine bottle. So it's pretty compact.

I like the wide angle to zoom range
It is "ok". I use it on a Canon t3i. I bought it so I would not have to change lenses. I like the wide angle to zoom range, but I also like my photos to be SHARP, and this just does not do it well, especially when it is zoomed all the way out to 300 mm. I am pretty disappointed, so I will most likely sell it.

Great "up close" photos
Received the lens just prior to visiting Custer State Park, the Blackhills, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons - what a blessing! Great "up close" photos.

Considering the price, I am very please with the performance of this lens. Highly recommended for any armature photographer who wants to go on vacation with only one lens.
