A New York Times and USA TODAY bestseller about a good girl dangerously drawn to the ultimate bad boy.The new Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn’t drink or swear, and she has the appropriate number of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance from the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University’s Walking One-Night Stand. Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby wants—and needs—to avoid. He spends his nights winning money in a floating fight ring, and his days as the ultimate college campus charmer. Intrigued by Abby’s resistance to his appeal, Travis tricks her into his daily life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis’s apartment for the same amount of time. Either way, Travis has no idea that he has met his match. Review: Fell in love!! - I’m not an avid reader and just to get myself to read, I decided to start with this book and I’m so so glad that I read it! I absolutely loved every bit of it and there’s no way that you would ever feel disinterested at any point. The book was so engrossing that it almost felt like the characters were a part of my life and now that I’ve finished reading it, I don’t know for how long is this going to stay on my mind! Highly recommend! Review: Brilliant writing. - - 4.5 stars - The most lovable part of the book was the cool and brilliant writing(language) on the author's part. The story was good, with a quite unique romance setting. The development was just right, though things did repeat themselves a lot. There were times when I was fed up from the on and off of Abby's and Travis's relationship and constant jealousy thing. But apart from these things (which are well true for many stories under this genre), the story was enticing, humorous, and simply worth reading.

Interesting and keeps you on your toes
I gave it a 4 stars because I genuinely enjoyed reading the book. The missing one start was for the lack of steadiness and health a relationship should have contrary to what has been portrayed here. Other than that. The friendships between the characters are good. And the story is interesting.

Got it for so cheap
Iam so happy, I got it for so cheap. The product I received wasn’t in that bad condition, I can consider it. Because the actual price is way too much.

Intense and Beautiful
Abby Abernathy is conservative, tough and takes no nonsense from anyone. She's determined to escape her old life, and so keeps to herself, avoiding any attention or trouble - until Travis Maddox makes an appearance, that is. Travis is everything Abby is not. He's confident, promiscuous and constantly under the public eye. From the moment they set eyes upon one another during one of Travis' underground fights, the connection between the pair is undeniable. But Travis is everything Abby has been trying so hard to avoid, and so she's left with the resounding question: should she risk everything for something that could be either simply beautiful, or a complete disaster? I had this book on my Kindle for so long, but put off reading it over and over - until I had to procrastinate from writing my dissertation for university, that is! I was captivated from the first few pages and, by the end of the novel, sorely regretted not reading it sooner. Jamie McGuire's 'Beautiful Disaster' has everything I look for in a YA romance - and so much more. Travis and Abby are very real. At first glance, it appears to be your typical "good girl meets bad boy" story - but, as the novel unfolds, the reader realises how fleshed out each character really is. They each have their secrets and their flaws, and are very easy to connect with. Both Abby and Travis each has a past that has affected not only the way they behave in general, but their attitudes in regards to their troublesome relationship. The relationship itself is, of course, a complete rollercoaster of emotions. Travis and Abby are incredibly dysfunctional - but they know it, and that makes it rather refreshing. The emotions involved are raw and real, and completely draw you in to the relationship. I can't remember the last time I got so involved in a romance novel that I wanted to re-read it as soon as I had finished - but that's exactly how I felt with 'Beautiful Disaster.' Honestly, this book, for me, was just so absorbing. McGuire's writing style is just the write mixture of formal and informal - remaining interesting and flowing whilst still retaining an element of literary merit. As mentioned previously, her characterisation is wonderful, too. The reader really cares for the characters and whether or not they will get their happy ending. That's not to say it's the perfect novel for everyone, though. It has its faults. It can be rather clichéd it times, as well as repetitive. Some of the issues within the novel have been viewed as controversial, such as Travis' violence. However, as a whole, I thought it was a wonderful novel and thoroughly enjoyed it. I've read it twice now, and will probably read it again. I would recommend it to most fans of the genre - especially those who love a reformed bad boy and an intense love story!

Totalmente recomendado.

Favourite Book of All Time,
First time read review: Absolutely amazing!! I can't explain it. I loved it and will definitely read it again and again. Afterwards I couldn't get it off my mind. This is the review from the other edition and second time I read this book. Only 2 weeks after reading it for the first time! ((((This is the second time I have read this book, and in a month too. I really like this book and I don't know what it is about it that I like. It catches my attention and I can't get it off my mind for no obvious reason. All of a sudden a couple days ago I started thinking about it and was just like I HAVE to read this book again. So I did, it didn't seem as long as the first time I read it, probably because I knew what would happen, but it was just as good. I love it and it is one of the top 3 out of the hundreds of books I have read. It has a fair amount of more the more sexual scenes and should only be read by older teens or adults. Lots of people specifically like these kinds of books or don't, I have no opinion and that isn't what I like about it. It seems very realistic but also at the same time unrealistic. Probably because they fight and have flaws just like normal people, but the love seems a little fantasized almost at the same time, the kind of thing that is only dreamed of, or only a few people experience. I'm very glad they worked everything out and am fairly certain they always will, but also with fights of epic proportions throughout their lives. Normally I wouldn't approve of the ending, especially in real life, but for them it didn't seem irresponsible or crazy, it seemed right and I felt it will definitely make each of them feel safer in the relationship and they should be/will be happy. I kinda agreed with Kara about the crazy and co-dependency thing. It almost doesn't make sense how quickly Travis went from being willing to watch her date someone else to never letting her out of his sight. It almost felt like he lost, and I guess he really did, his indifference and confidence, and a little masculinity when he became so dependent. Afterwards he seemed pretty sappy, but happy, as well as almost needy. But then I guess his fights and protectiveness brought out that masculinity again, that bad boy we all fall in love with. So that little part I did not really like, that tone change from before and after they got together, of them being independent and friends to unable to be apart, which is kinda sweet and I do logically understand Travis's point of view when he explains in his speech after the bike ride. But that is one of the parts that borders be unrealistic, a stupid or silly thought or action on their part, but it is also sweet and endearing to me at the same time. Towards the end or when he protects her that strength and confident feeling of the book comes back, so I guess that feeling I don't like is only there when they are fighting. Otherwise the love is awwwwwe inducing. And that is waaaay too much talk about such a small part I don't like because this book truly is to me epic and amazig. I love it, flaws and all because that is what makes it so relatable, realistic and makes me love it. Travis and Abby's story is one I truly enjoyed and can't stop ranting about, obviously, and will always love, read again and again and I will buy a copy for myself as soon as possible. People who should read this: Everyone who loves epic love stories, but it is not just a sappy love story, Older Teens because of sexual content. PS. Unlike some people I actually like the mouth cover just as much or even more than the butterfly one, because although somewhat creepy? or weird? it seems to fit better than the butterfly one which has no relevance in my opinion whatsoever. PPS. I also love the title, because they really are a BEAUTIFUL DISASTER (read that as what the words mean, not just as the title) ))))))) PPS. 2 months later and guess what I want to do again!!! :) Read this darn epic book. :D It's crazy.! Another Review on a Blog I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!! It is my favourite all time, best I've ever read, I read it about 4 months ago and 2 weeks later again and it is still my favourite. and I've read exactly 150 since then. It was sooooooooo sad for Travis, when he was on the ground... I loved the conversation they had when they initially got together, it was seriously awesome. I also Loved America and Shep, felt bad for him when he was convinced everything was going to go horribly wrong but it was also funny. And I also felt sad for Travis when he had to watch her with Parker. I love how she was all mature about the groupies thing, but Travis's jealous moments were adorable, touching and sexy. It was great how she had no clue what was happening when everyone else and their mother did. I am seriously considering reading it again any day now, as soon as I have time because I'll be checked out for a couple hours. Even so, I run through scenes in my head, I know whole paragraphs. I loved how he respected her and it was so obvious he was in love with her but didn't realize what the heck was going on because he'd never felt LOVE for someone, it wasn't just attraction, but respect and caring too. Although her intentions are honourable, we all know what is really happening in that section I know u know where I'm talking about when I almost want to throttle her but instead settle for sitting here going NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO and bawling,(make that the 2 times, first event and ALMOST reconsideration!! GRRR.) Literally. Because we can deduce why he says what he does when she should just spit out what she was going to say, seriously end a lot of their pain and suffering as well as ours. But TRAVIS IS AMAZING, I agree he was so vulnerable but only with her, totally swoon inducing, not just worthy. There is a big shift from the cocky, bad boy in the beginning to the one in love with Abby, she does that, and he's still there, the guy we love, we just create and enjoy a new side of him. This book was perfect and seriously NOW I HAVE TO READ IT. and I will be up until 4 in the morning tonight to finish it. WORTH IT!!!
