Russell Hobbs 21886 Legacy Quiet Boil Electric Kettle, 3000 W, 1.7 Litre, Black with 4 Slice Toaster

I almost didn't buy this because of the negative feedbacks so let me make this clear. Its a GREAT kettle and does it's simple job perfectly. It boils very quickly and does NOT overboil. It is also extremely quiet and does NOT get louder. You simply become accustomed to the sound and forget how noisy your old kettle really was. It is also very smart and stylish for a kettle. Ours is dark cherry red and looks rich in our kitchen. We removed the plastic level indicators as recommended by other users and after boiling and throwing just once we never had any after-taste problems. It performs beautifully. Highly recommended.

Kettle quick to arrive. Very quiet and also quick to boil. Matches my microwave.

Noise level low

The 1st kettle I bought was delivered xmas eve. As with new kettles I like to fill and boil a few times just to clean it. On the 2nd boil I took a while to go back to empty and refill and my kitchen looked like a sauna. The kettle didn't turn off when it boiled and I only had about a cm of water left in the bottom so hate to think what would have happened if it boiled dry. Thank goodness I didn't throw my old 1 away. I ordered this kettle to replace my old red Russell hobb kettle as I have decorated. My red one I have had for more than 10 years, it was loud and took ages to boil but I loved the colour so put up with it. I ordered a replacement and this one is great. I can hardly hear it on but only takes a fraction less time to boil. I used to always fill from the spout as I couldn't get the lid off the last one but I'm still filling from the spout but I can get the lid off if I wanted to. It took about a week to get rid of the limescale taste and i removed the plastic on the advice of other buyers. At this time I would recommend.

Noise level does not intrude on kitchen conversations. Great addition to my kitchen essentials!
