Best value for a catch basin this size!
I have installed two of these on my property, as part of a comprehensive drainage system that also includes two of the smaller 12" Fernco catch basins. I use these as major collection points for various other drain runs that then carry the water to the outfall. Basins of this size are usually concrete, and require an excavator to lift into place, but this one is light and can be installed by one person; it will never be cracked by frost and doesn't require a heavy cast iron lid like a concrete catch basin. The ability to choose from five pipe inlet or outlet elevations on all four sides of this basin, with up to four pipes entering or exiting this basin on each side (sixteen total!) as well as the availability of 6" risers to bring the grate up to grade, makes it easy to incorporate into my overall drainage plan. One of them is fed by a catch basin in the driveway, a footing drain from my house's foundation, part of my downspout drainage system, and the footing and downspout drains from my detached garage, all through separate pipes. No other basin I have found allows this many connections. The flexibility in configuring this catch basin is very smart. The pipe seals are also excellent, especially compared to the "universal outlets" that come with the box-store catch basins. The universal outlets on those other products restrict the flow in and out of those basins to the size of 3" pipe, even if you are using 4" pipe, while the seals on this catch basin allow the full diameter of a 4" pipe to enter and exit the basin. They also accept 2" and 3" pipe if you want to use those sizes, and you can use whatever kind of pipe you want (triple wall, PVC, ABS, SDR35, etc). While the box store catch basins are good, this is a much more thoughtfully-designed product and the price is the same. It's well made, and it's made in the USA, which I am strongly in favor of. Other reviewers noted that they had difficulty cutting out the pre-scored openings, but I had no trouble using a utility knife with a sharp blade. If you choose to purchase and attach the available 6" risers to this catch basin, you need to provide six stainless steel screws. I have found that #10 x 1-1/4" or #10 x 1-1/2" sheet metal screws are perfect. Also, if you are going to do the hard work of digging and installing a drainage system, don't shortchange yourself by using cheap corrugated flexible pipe. Do yourself a favor and use rigid pipe like triple-wall or PVC - your system will last much longer and be much easier to unclog.

High quality and super inexpensive. No directions, though.
I should take off a star for NO DIRECTIONS ON HOW TO INSTALL IT. I couldn't even find a how to for this on youtube. Also, I'll never ask the amazon community a question. I had nothing but silly clueless responses to if this catch basin accepts 6" pipe. It does. What is not shown in the seller pictures for this product is THE OTHER SIDE OF THIS BASIN which plainly shows cut outs for 6" pipe (while people in the comments say it's not for 6" pipe). I highly doubt they even bought this thing. This catch basin comes with a couple of 4" adapters for 4" pipe. What it doesn't say is that you have to buy the 6" pipe adapter (shown in my photos). You also need to buy special tape (pipe wrap tape shown in my photos). My pics pretty much show how to install this catch basin into the ground and with 6" pipe. You need a few inches of gravel beneath the basin, and the top of the basin should end up at ground level. Shockingly, my local sprinkler supply store sells this size catch basin for...you're not going to believe it....$600. Yes, six hundred dollars just for the catch basin. That's insane. Glad this drainage project is over. Works great.

Good quality, doesn't matter if a green / black lid. I expect black better UV protection.
Its large, so you can put a sump pump in it. Must remove considerable amount of soil to install. Cut out two six inch holes, wish they had some 4" outlines too. Not installed yet, Mfg should offer fittings Similar to the FSD-UA-001 to lock in the french drain system. Need to match diameters. Its also rather expensive, but should last for years. I will use one of the six inch holes for the drain side to channel high flows with a 4 inch drain and a 1.25 inch drain along side, and try to seal it. On the feed side (input) trench I will try to obtain or repurpose a six inch adapter and reduce to the 4" channel.

Great product. Well made.
Installed this mammoth catch basin to drain water accumulating under our deck and in our back yard. We also installed a 12 inch square catch basin (purchased separately on Amazon) as part of the same system. Digging the trench for the large catch basin was a bit of a bear—the catch basin is deep and I attached the drain pipe in one of its lower openings so that water would mostly drain out of the bottom of the basin. Placing the drain pipe in one of the lower openings means that the trench must be deeper. We did not have to attach the lid with screws provided. It is plenty secure enough without the screws. The catch basin is very strong and sturdy. A person can easily stand on it. We are very pleased with this product. It is doing its job perfectly and there is no more water accumulating under the deck.

Very well made unit with two small issues
I had a backyard that flooded easily whenever it rained. These did the trick. I bought two, as well as one of the 12" units. First of all, the units are very sturdy. You can stand on the grating without breaking it, so it can be used near traffic areas. Like another reviewer said, it doesn't have any screws, so you have to get your own. I bought the 6" extender, so get extra screws. It will work without them, but its better to be safe. The unit will accommodate 16 4" pipes if necessary: 8 on the lower part and 8 on the upper part. It just depends on what your requirements are. One unexpected issue was that the walls are very tough! The postcard-sized "instructions" said to use a knife to cut the holes for the pipe. You better have a good knife. I went nowhere with a sharp blade. I tried a drywall knife and it caught in the teeth easily. A hacksaw blade in a handle worked best for me. That said, I prefer this to one that I could easily cut because I would wonder if it would collapse when stressed. Each 20" unit comes with 5 gaskets that work very well. Fernco has more. I couldn't find any on Amazon at the time.
