I'd like to address a few
A few people have criticized this thing for several reasons, I'd like to address a few:As far as being cheaply made - News flash folks: it costs less than $4. EVERYTHING ON THE PLANET that costs less than $4 is cheaply made, all praise be to capitalism! There is nothing in the world you can buy aside from perhaps a stick of gum that, at $4, is expensively made.As far as being thin metal - One reviewer pointed out, "Then, if said mosquito lands on a wall and you give it all you got, the force of hitting the wall leaves the head of the swatter a curled, useless mess." Why the HECK are you "giving it all you got"??? It's a fly, the lightest of swats with a proper flyswatter (like this one) will render said fly dead and ready for disposal. This isn't a crow swatter, people. if you need to deliver that much force to kill your pests may I suggest searching baseball bats?As far as being made of cardboard - One reviewer pointed out, "The head looks like it's going to come loose---it's only held on with staples, after all." This review is spot on and I can't make any excuse for it, the head is flimsily attached. HOWEVER, knowing this ahead of time (thanks, other reviewer!) prepared me and before I executed the first of many, many, MANY airborne pests with this sweet baby I dropped a bead of hot glue over the head's attachment points. While it's a hassle to customize a tool you've bought, let's be real here: do you think the Navy SEALS who went after those warlords in Mogadishu or Bin Laden or those Somali pirates dropped into battle with perfectly stock rifles? Of course not! They customized them to the mission at hand.Now...I'm not saying that by killing flies on my back deck I'm a hero like those dudes who rescued Captain Phillips from Somali pirates but we do have something in common: making sure our weapons are ready for the task at hand. As far as fly swatters go I AM saying that this sweet baby is as capable as a .30 cal Win-Mag in the hands of a highly trained American Hero fired off the fantail of a Navy destroyer.And...real talk. It's cheap, buy 2.

After at least 37 years we needed to replace
We were overjoyed to find that these are still made and ordered one, which is likely the only one we will ever need again. My wife took the one from her mother's place after her mother died in 1982 and it was getting very tired after so many years. It is exactly the same brand as this one we ordered. The plastic swatters are worthless in our book, but these are killing machines. We constantly use swatters in the summer. We live in a semi-rural area in South Texas and like to have the house somewhat open when it is cool enough. My wife was just tickled pink, no astonished, to find these old time swatters were still made...Screw the cheap China made plastic junk!! So here's a picture of our 37+ year old swatter as a testament to the durability of this brand...We would give it 6 stars if we could.

not great
This thing sucks like yeah it metal but it bends and does not bend back. The actual metal part jiggles around a bit to much

because it allows air through more easily without blowing it to the sides
I bought this because the plastic fly swatters commonly available tend to disintegrate rather quickly with use. The screen blade of this model is not only durable but, because it allows air through more easily without blowing it to the sides, it's also more effective at its job of swatting flies. The main problem I have with it is the handle needs to be made out of harder metal. When swatting a fly, especially one in mid air, the handle bends, sometimes significantly, and I spend nearly as much time straightening the handle as swatting flies. If the handle were improved with tougher metal this would probably be the best fly swatter ever, just like the one my grandmother used to have. Even with that relative defect this is still far better than the typical plastic swatter. Both more durable and more effective. Worth the moderate cost. As to the particular seller who shipped it they could use a different type of packaging. They jammed it into an envelope too small for it and the blade was mangled on arrival. After several minutes of manipulation I managed to bend it back into it's proper shape, as I'm constantly having to do with the handle, but I shouldn't have had to. Even so, that was a minor annoyance. A plastic swatter similarly deformed would've simply shattered.

Nice but needs work
The swatted is metal and I liked that. The handle is strong and I liked that. What I did not like was how the head was attached to the handle. Like others said on here it's attached with staples over cardboard. It felt flimsy right out the box and I knew it would not last long without help.I filled in the head area the has the staples, with wood glue. I filled it up all the way and let it sit in the sun for a few hours. It works great now and feels solid. I would buy again but make the upgrades like I did before. Two stars off for having to fix something the manufacturer should have done

Best swatter ever!
Had bee looking for this old fashioned seater. Flies don’t get a warning because of the mesh. Easier to swat them with!

BEST classic fly swatter
i've had to purchase many fly swatters in the last couple years. forget the plastic ones. especially if you leave them outdoors, the UV kills them within months.. the classic Willert fly sweater has more holes for air to pass through so each swing on a fly is noticeably faster and way more successful. the swatter surface is just soft enough that it allows swatting flies on more delicate surfaces. It's 3 in a pack and cheaper than the plastic ones. And hey actually really work

Not what I expected
I expected this to be like the old-time ones - very sturdy. These are not. Very flimsy. I'm better off just buying a sturdy spatcheler & using that! Also, the ad said "package of 3". I got one! Now I'm having a problem getting the company to send me the other 2.
