Good Value
Like the rest of you reading all these reviews, I also checked out a whole bunch of food processors before getting this one. I read all the Amazon reviews and then went on to Consumer Reports, Good Housekeeping, etc. etc. What my research told me was that this food processor is up there with the big dogs. So, here's what I found: I am a tree hugging vegan, with a social worker's budget. I got this food processor to help me with making hummus, other vegan dips and sauces, and chopping. It works great! It didn't break my bank. I have other Hamilton Beach products that have stood the test of time. If this is like them, I plan on having this product for many years. The people who are complaining that the "hole is too small" need to get a life. I made 3 cups of hummus in this thing in 6 minutes. If I need to make 9 cups of hummus, it might take me 18 minutes. That's a lot of hummus, folks. The construction of this product is solid and it has the suction cup feet so it doesn't "walk" around the counter. It is easy to put together and easy to take apart and clean. It also looks cool with the brushed chrome and black. Some people said it was too noisy. I don't know what whisper quiet world these people live in, but this is a machine, and yes, there was a "whirring sound" as it processed my food in seconds. Not one complaint. My former room mate had a Cuisinart food processor and I found the thing cumbersome to put together and take apart. I like an appliance where I don't need an engineering degree to work the thing.I am recommending this product with the most stars you give it. It is solid, works great, and affordable.

love this!!!
Love, love, love this. This is my 4th food processor in 10 years. The last one made it about 2 months and broke. The replacement parts to repair what should've been covered by a warranty was $60, so I decided if I'm going to spend $60 on one it might as well have more blades and a bigger bowl. This one fit my needs perfectly. It's a tad bigger than my Mr. Coffee coffee pot, but still fits under my cabinets, the wide mouth is lovely, I fit a WHOLE RUSSET POTATO in it! Clean up is easy, the parts just snap on or off, no struggling!, the safety features are top notch. If your using it to grate laundry soap, if you like a finer grate, grate your soap with the grater blade then use the chopping blade. Otherwise you'll end up with soap, I used Zote soap, with soap grated like cheese. For the French Fry blade I used plain old russet potatoes, the kind you can buy in 5 or 10 lb bags, I washed them up with the skins on and patted them dry. Place the French Fry blade with the words 'French fry blade' up in your processor, if you do it downside it will make a lovely potato pulp that could work as fake vomit. Put the lid on it and lift the latch for the wide mouth. lay the potato down flat in it, secure the lid, and use the black food press to grip the potato from the top, really press on to it or your whole potato will tumble around the feeder tube like a bouncy ball. For long fries use a long potato, if your looking for diced potatoes, like in potatoes O'Brian put your potato in the feeder tube vertically like you would a carrot with the French Fry blade in place. They really should call it the Julienne blade since that's what it pretty much does. I can make enough fries to feed my teenage boys in the same amount of time it would of taken me to cut up 2 potatoes by hand with a knife. The only wish I had was that the French Fry blade was height adjustable for thicker fries, it makes great shoe strings though.

Great product !
I absolutely wanted a food processor but here in Japan, in addition to being too small, they are really expensive (count more than 100$ ).I came accross this product after researching which food processors have the best features, and would suit my needs the best. I off course read the reviews about the bowl "bad design" beforehand, but I regret nothing.+ The bowl is HUGE. I do not know if this is the standard food processor size in the U.S., but I was quite surprised when I received it. Anyway this is not a bad point for me : better too big than too small !+ It really fits whole vegetables, and is really powerful+ The price is really affordable for the features it offers+ Easy to use, really intuitive- It is a little bit noisy. I personally don't care but I guess it could be bothering.About the bowl "bad design" : all food processors bowls DO HAVE a hole in the center, that's why if you take it out after removing the blade, you will spill liquid everywhere. Also, they are not made to process liquids, but in case you want to anyway, the solution is quite simple : Let the blade and bowl in place until you transfer liquids to another bowl.I haven't had the chance to try the french fry blade yet but I can't wait to !Since I have only used it for a short period, I will only give it 4 stars for now.

Ça déborde!
La cheminée est trop basse. Ça déborde souvent et ça renverse partout. Très frustrant.
