Fairly good effect with a little practice.
I bought these to decorate a kids room. The room has sloping ceilings so I used these to produce a border at the point where the horizontal meets the pitch.Once I got the hang of them them produced a good dot though I did find that to start with I was making a lot of mini bubbles too. This didn't go away entirely with practice but got better.I found the best results as follows:- Dab them into the paint- Gently scrape off excess paint on side of pot or tray (I had little sample pots of paint so just scraped it on the opening)- Press gently onto the wall- Gently twist them while they are on the wall for a good, clear circle.I used 6 alternating colors starting with a row of the biggest and then getting smaller as I went. I used 4 of the 6 sizes.for a border that is about 6 inches deep total.I think it was an economical way of creating quite a bold effect.

OK, but not great
Ease of use is good, clean up too. But, be aware that you have to clean-up or soak foam in water immediately after use or it will dry and harden. If it hardens, you have no choice but to cut the end off or throw it away. Other than that, these work exactly as you would expect them to.

Didn't Get The Smooth Effect I Wanted
I got these foam pouncers to apply paint on a glass milk bottle. I used a multi-surface acrylic paint. While the foam applied the paint adequately, the end effect was not smooth when the paint dried. I was looking for the smoothness like fondant on a wedding cake. I applied two coats of paint to get at least some smoothness. The end result was good but did not meet my expectations. You can see a little bumpiness here and there. Maybe I'm going to have to dip a whole bottle in a vat of paint. The different sizes of the pouncers helped with smaller areas and the clean up was so easy! The foam is removable for cleaning. I think I'll try these pouncers for other surfaces like tin or wood and see how it goes.

Great for Rock Painting
These are great for blending colors . I like that you can pull out the foam and clean in seperately from the handle. I also purchased the other Martha Stewart Daubers which were like 10.00 or so and did not like them near as well as these less expensive paint pouncers.

Do the trick, are smaller and less sturdy than expected, but happy overall.
These are pretty good little pouncers. Do the trick for my stenciling on boards. I think I'll probably have to replace them fairly often, though, as they aren't as sturdy as I'd expected. They're also pretty small, which means stenciling larger projects will take longer. I am thinking I may try devising my own larger pouncers, for my larger stencils. But, these are good to have on hand, especially for small stencils. I'm glad I have them and I'd buy them again. Just don't expect anything fancy and you'll be glad you have them in your craft toolbox.

still on the fence
i like them and they are easy to use. they are a pain to wash and if u dont wash right away they harden and can damage. still not sure if the quality and valu are even

Makes air bubbles
These work fine for stenciling, however they leave air bubbles. I have to go behind it with a makeup sponge to burst the air bubbles or it will dry with them.

Highly recommended. Yes you need these!
I absolutely love these! I didn't want to have to spend the money on sponges, but after trying to decorate my plant pots with polka dots using other methods - I failed miserably and gave in to buying these. They worked perfectly. At first, I wasn't sure it was going to work. When you press down you either leave not enough paint or too much and it drips. Do not fret, practice makes perfect. Definitely practice using these before you actually begin your project. I found the best way to apply paint without issues was to press down lightly and apply more pressure (lightly) around the rim, twist back and forth without lifting up, then quickly lift up. Let dry before applying another layer, if necessary.

Great tool for blending - a little pricey for a foam product.
Great for painting and blending acrylic paints. Somewhat overpriced for what must be a very cheap product to make! I used on rocks to blend colours for background work. Not sure how long they'll work but helpful when painting cirlces.

Very Pleased
I have seen these applicators by the Martha Stewart brand many times as part of kits which I could not afford to buy at the time.So as I am branching out into a bit of home decor I thought I would buy and try and have to say I am very pleased with them.Have used with Chalk paint and they are easy to clean in warm or cold water. With ink pads they stain but easy to get out with soapy water hot or cold.
