It worked and the price was right.
Was able to change the regulator without removing the alternator (1987 944s). Quality of construction was not quite as good as the OEM component that was removed but it was a lot cheaper.

Trash Soldering for HELLA.
Product from China, and basic soldering looks like it was created by a blind woodsman. Visuallya I assume it will fail.I usually love HELLA products. I hopethis is an exception not a rule.

Hella used to represent quality, not so much these days...
SAAB 9000 charging system quit, research showed this is usually a failed voltage regulator.Hella used to mean "made in Europe = quality". This item arrived, label says "made in China". Went ahead and installed the unit and was pleased when the alternator started working again.Fast forward roughly one month, charging system has once again quit working.I guess I should have bought the Bosch.
