LifeProof iPhone 5/5S LifeJacket Float - Orange

So let me tell you how reliable this case is. So I bought the Lifeproof case for a trip to Oahu, Hawaii. I am, in fact, still on the island as I write this. I spent the day snorkeling in Hanauma Bay (which is spectacular) and out my phone in the case in the Lifeproof bright orange life jacket so that I could take photos. About fifteen minutes into my swim, the clip wrist strap broke (beware if purchasing the life jacket: get a better wrist strap) and the phone was nowhere in sight.I was resigned to my fate and decided to carry on with my swim and just deal with the loss of my phone; I was with friends, if I needed a phone I'd just borrow theirs. Later in the evening I check my email back at the place I'm staying and I find an email from a friend declaring that a Hanauma Bay lifeguard found my phone and responded to a text from them!What does this tell you? My phone, in Lifeproof case and lifejacket, floated around in the waters of Hanauma Bay for about three hours. When it was finally found, it worked well enough for me to be reunited with it. Not a single leak. Totally safe.Extremely awesome case and THRILLED by the integrity of Hawaiian life guards! My phone was found because it floated on the surface and was bright orange. Would totally recommend it. BUT REMEMBER. BUY A STURDIER STRAP. AND MAYBE KEEP A HAND ON THE ACTUAL PHONE INSTEAD OF LETTING IT FLOAT AROUND LIKE THIS DUMMY DID.

Bought for my phone for going kayaking. Was a little difficult to put on my phone, tested it out in the sink before we went, kept my phone afloat. Thankfully didn't have to test it on the lake. Good idea to protect the phone.

I am 100% sure I received a knock off. I paid less then the original price but bought from Amazon and not a private seller but still got a knock off product. How you can tell it is a knock off is because it is made in china, it has foreign writing on the box which it should not and the quality of packaging is different and noticeable when compared to an authentic Lifeproof product. If you don't know what to look for you couldn't really tell the difference. It is a foam case and it floats and that is all I really cared about and even though it is a knock off it is still good and fulfills my requirements and is a decent product and I saved money. I thought I would take the chance even though the price was a lot cheaper because Amazon is an authorized reseller according to Lifeproof's website! Even though it is not authentic product if you can get one cheap enough I would...but it you are paying around full retail price I would buy directly from Lifeproof's website or Lifeproof's Amazon Storefront, but be aware if you are buying from a private seller or even Amazon if the price is a lot less it might be a knock off.

This case is not as hard to get off and on as some said. I have small hands and am able to remove it in a few seconds. The string on the small lanyard came off the second time I used it. I replace it with the one on the longer lanyard. I really don't see myself using the longer lanyard. All my friends asked me if it floats when they see it. We live on a lake and boat every weekend with our friends. I tell them that yes, it floats and they want to toss it into the lake.The phone works fine with the case on. I can use all the features except I can't charge it. The size makes it easy to hold on to while taking photos and I take a lot of photos on the lake.I would recommend this for anyone who is on a boat. It makes me feel much better knowing that if I drop it into the lake, it will float.

I took this thing into the ocean with me, with my Nuud case on my iPhone 5s. The pictures are amazing, and I felt safe with this on it. I also had it while I was at a lake. It does exactly what it is supposed to - float.My one gripe is the strap for your wrist - it didn't make it to the ocean. My phone bounced from my hand with the strap on, and the little string that connects the strap to the phone snapped off of the plastic part that secured it. That being said, I could have used one of the two others from the neck strap to replace it. Not necessary though.I kept my phone in a waterproof fanny pack while I swam, and that seemed to help so I could be out in the water longer.

This definitely does it's job of keeping your phone afloat. I just wish it were less bulky! I used it while on a trip to Thailand, and while I appreciated knowing my phone was safe if it fell into the ocean, it was annoying to have it hanging around my neck and bouncing on my chest. The only other place I could put it was tucked in my backpack, which is just not as accessible as having your phone in your pocket.

I take this thing to the beach, to the river, boating, kayaking, swimming, fishing, anything I maybe doing where there is even the slightest chance my iphone might fall in the water I take this. It is great some water I am near the currents are fast, some the water is too dark to see in. Both cases this is perfect to ensure if I drop it I have a decent chance of retrieving it.That being said you should know this is an accessory to your lifeproof case. Your lifeproof case is what makes your phone waterproof not this, this only makes it float. So if you don't have a waterproof case this will do you absolutely no good if you drop it in the water you will still be retrieving a broken phone.

Love this! The name totally fits this product, we spend a lot of time at the lake and it is a piece of mind knowing if this drops in the water it will not sink! not to mention it is easy to find ! and as a added bonus if it gets dropped it is well padded for added protection to your phone. The only issue I have is it is a bit of a challenge to get it in and out of the case.

it's exactly like you see in the picture. However, once you put it on top of the LifeProof IPhone case, though, it's absolutely huge! Also found it really hard to get it off again, and in doing so, gave the LifeProof case a really good workout! Definitely built for protecting your iphone, and not for convenience! In any case, it serves its purpose, and I'll probably get the hang of it, in time.

The only draw back was the strength of the clip or the knot. when I looped through and pulled on the clip attachment the knot slipped through the clip attachment. Any bounce or force would of meant it would fall off. I made up my own loop through with my daughters hairband and attached that to a dollar store lanyard.

What can I say... It fits and it floats. I did have an issue with the clips that tie to the case, but LifeProof replaced it for me without issue. I gives me a great deal of piece-of-mind when I'm kayaking. Dry bags also work, but unless you have enough air in there with the phone, there's a good chance it'll sink when dropped. If you're a paddler, and like to take your phone with you... This is likely the best option. It's the best one I've found so far.

Very functional, however, a bit bulky!

Needed if you have the water proof case awesome add on for going fishing or just out in open water floats very good and easy to spot
