This set is awesome for my grandchildren to learn how to play the game. The pieces feel nice in your hand, not too heavy. The board is a high quality material and the colors are rich. I have enjoyed playing.

Perfect for what I needed it for

8/10 love the pieces but I'm underwhelmed by the board. Pieces don't wobble, have a decent weight, solid base, and are way more fun to use than regular pieces. It's also easier to differentiate between them than basic pieces which is ideal for new players. The mat is great if you're trying to learn the names of board spaces and is big enough their larger than average size doesn't cause any issues. It's not so great if you ever want to move it from one single spot since there's no bag for the pieces either.

The "chessboard" is a CHEAP piece of pleather that arrived so creased the flimsy chess pieces won't stand up on it. As for the "chess pieces," they look like the CHEAP green plastic army men that used to be so popular. I am too embarrassed to even give it to my 6-year-old grandson who is learning to play. HORRID!

It's not a high quality item, but each piece is detailed and good, heavy, and strong enough to enjoy the game of Chess with style.

The package was mailed promptly, and the pieces were as pictured and are a very nice set. One of the black pawn's heads had broken off in the package, so that was unfortunate and probably just unlucky. The pieces come in a sealed pouch so I don't know if they can take them out piece by piece to inspect but maybe they can inspect the pouch to make sure there are no broken pieces since these are plastic and not metal. The vinyl board is very smelly with chemical smell so we can't keep it inside the house. We left it outside to off-gas, so we'll see what happens.

Very nice looking and good quality. I gave this set to my grandson and he loved it.

Product as advertised, good craftmanship. Certainly makes a good gift, which is why I bought it.
