A torque beast!
This saw is an impressive beast of a saw. It is a true clone of the original Stihl 070 saw, and as far as I can tell made to the comparable quality levels. It is made of all metal components everywhere, and the weight of it confirms it all day long. This is my 3rd Farmmac saw I have purchased and all of them have been excellent saws. The Farmmac saws are the pro-upgrade to the Neotec saws, using either Walbro or Tillotson carbs and Italian ignitions with magnesium casing everywhere, and Pro-flow air filtration systems. As well as, a skid plate to further protect the bottom of the saw. More importantly, they just work, they start up easily and cut like the beasts that they are. I'm thoroughly impressed with the value of these saws for the money. Comparable saws from Stihl or Husqvarna would be 3 to 4 times more money, and quite frankly they don't perform 3 to 4 times better.

Powerful, inexpensive work horse
Just as I was hoping for. Farmmac 070 with 42 inch bar. Came in two shipments Bar and chain in one, powerhead in other. 2 days apart. As far as starting goes, my way of pull twice, pull choke 1/2, pull sputter, push choke in and start. Using the enclosed starting direction flooded it out. I don't use compression release, or lock the trigger. So far starting is easy. WARNING: HOLD PULL HANDLE TIGHTLY, IT HURTS WHEN YANKED OUT OF YOUR HAND. I use the pump oiler alot. Oil is cheap, bars/chains not so much. The saw feels good not like most of the knockoffs. Just keep in mind this is based on 1970s technology. It's a little slower, heavier, and consumes more fuel than its modern equivalent, at 1/4th to 1/5th the price. Maybe not for a professional but for me with ten 50 plus inch diameter trees to drop and cut up, this is perfect. Picture is 53 in diameter fir tree.

Lots of fun!
Awesome saw! Broke it in with 32:1 mix as recommended then tuned the high jet after switching to 40:1. Pulls through 30+ inch maple logs like a tractor. Let the weight of the saw do the work. I love this thing!

Farmmac 070 with 42" bar
This saw cranked right out of the box. I only did a few cuts with it and the third time I tried to crank it it kept flooding. I took the carb apart didn't see anything wrong but still wouldn't run. Purchased a replacement carb from Sawzilla. Cranked right up. As it ran it began backfiring bad. I bought a better sparkplug. Ran this beast and it chewed through a huge live oak over the weekend. It's a beast, but you might have to diagnose a few things. The decompression valve has to be pressed while you crank or it doesn't stay down, so I don't use it. This makes cranking a 105cc saw challenging but I typically get it started after two or three steady pulls. I needed a 42" bar for this particular oak and will probably never need to use it again, so buying a $1500-2000 Stihl was not my first option. This wasa $475 gamble, plus $20 for the carb and another $8 sparkplug. Well worth it. Be prepared, the power head is 38 pounds and not an ounce less. It's HEAVY, but it cuts extremely well.

Awesome little saw!
I needed a small saw for limbing and small trees. Lugging out my Husqvarna 450 for little trees was getting to be a chore. This little guy is the best! It is a clone of an echo 3510 at a fraction of the cost. I'm sure it isnt as well built as the Echo that costs close to $600 but the parts are interchangeable and very available. I have zero complaints! starts up like a champ and has enough power to take down a tree. It is now my go to saw for anything smaller than my leg.

Dangerous equipment. Do not buy.
I was sorely disappointed by equipment reliability. After tank 5 (40:1) idle adjustment doesn’t stop spinning chain at idle and bar oil is dripping from power head. Oil fluid is fouling motor inside the sealed engine compartment. It’s not a loose cap or any obvious tightening of easily accessible components. These equipment is the worst saw I’ve ever owned. I took a chance to buy and regret it.

The saw was worth it for me. It seems like it will suit my purposes.
I have a few trees over 30" diameter to take down. I have a Stihl with a 20" bar and have used that on trees around 30". But a neighbor has a white pine near the house with a 40" diameter . After some thought and prayer and seeing this saw for the price it was offered at I bought it. It worked fine for the tulip poplar we took down and cutting the logs for the mill. It cuts fine if you let it cut and don't push it. It was a lot better being able to see where the bar is on the other side of the tree. Even for the few trees that I'll use it on it is worth it for me. It started with just a few pulls after I turned the switch on. It's a heaver saw of course but like I say I only intend on using it from time to time for bigger diameter trees. I'm now 75 so you younger guys should be able to handle it ok. Just use normal caution, pray and stay humble.

Absolute Beast!
I purchased this chainsaw for an Alaskan mill. So far I have cut six logs that were 25 to 35 inches in diameter. This thing is an absolute beast! Pounds right through every slab I’ve done so far just gotta make sure the chain is really sharp. It does guzzle fuel so every time I make a cut, I want make sure it has a full tank. The company was great on customer service. They emailed me after about two weeks asking if my purchase was going well. To my surprise after the call, they sent me a free electric chainsaw sharpener. This is what actually inspired me to make this review. I would say the only slide downside is that the chain tensioning device is located next to the bar. Making it a little bit challenging to tighten the chain when it is on the Alaskan Mill. Other than that, this thing is an absolute beast!
