It was also directed by David Bowers and more or less, has the same cast. It is inspired from the fourth book, Dog Days.The first film, Diary Of A Wimpy Kid is about Greg Heffley (Zachary Gordon), an eleven-year old kid who is doing all that he can to become popular in his school. He makes new plans everyday to become the coolest dude of his school. In the process, he worries if his dorky friend, Rowley Jefferson, would ever be able to match up to his coolness. He tries to bring change Rowley in order to make him fit in. However, in the end, all his plans to become popular fail miserably, and Rowley ends up being more popular than him just by being the way he is. The second movie, Diary Of A Wimpy Kid 2: Rodrick Rules is about the protagonist, Greg, dealing with his elder brother, Rodrick, who is a big bully. His parents want them to get along, and so they plan to make them spend some quality time with each other over the weekend. However, their plan doesn’t seem to be working, as his elder brother constantly gets on his nerves and drives him crazy. The third movie, Diary Of A Wimpy Kid 3: Dog Days features Greg trying to romance his old crush, Holly Hills, while trying to maintain his friendship with Rowley. His dad wants him to use his summer break constructively, so Greg lies to him that he has gotten a job in a country club. One lie leads to another, and Greg soon finds himself in trouble. The situations that Greg finds himself in are relatable to people his own age. Fun, entertaining, and full of humor, all the three movies portray the quintessential geek in the form of Greg.Diary Of A Wimpy Kids (Combo Pack) was released in 2013, by 20th Century Fox Studio, in DVD format.
