Chinchilla Mansion Chinchilla Cage Kit - Deluxe Package

This cage is cruel and hazardous. I was fooled into wasting far too much money on this cage and after owning it I truly cannot comprehend the hype and good reviews it gets. It's such a poor design for chinchillas and their humans. This cage has shelves/ledges that are far too narrow; not wide enough for chinchillas to lay and far too dangerous to put anything on such as hideouts or toys, so that only leaves the bottom for those, where they pee. Despite its height, it's only one floor/level, so the entire cage is a giant hazard as there's nothing in the middle, just very narrow ledges on the sides so most of the space of the "mansion" is actually a giant fall/injury risk. The small doors make everything difficult like cleaning and assembling items. The bar spacing is 1"x1" which is too large and should instead be 1/2" by 1/2" so they won't get feet caught when pushing off sides. Everything from this company is absurdly overpriced. The scatter guards, included in the deluxe package, bend inwards at the bottom, taking away more space on the already overly narrow shelves. The chin spin is good itself but not so much on this cage as it causes the entire cage to loudly shake.I've had both so I can confidently say the Double Critter Nation is far better for many reasons including full doors, very wide shelves, and a second full floor (also better than ferret nation for chinchillas as the Critter Nation bar spacing is much better for chinchillas to not get feet caught and to climb if they want). The Double Critter Nation is safer, more affordable, easier to access, and comes with a higher stand with a storage shelf, unlike this one (only deluxe package comes with a lower stand and no storage shelf); just needs alteration of the plastic trays (replace or cover them) but even with doing that via fleece, metal, or wood, it's far more reasonably priced and affordable than this.
