Buying powertec 71119 t-tracks. Don’t want to assume but these should fit the track, correct? Also looking for flat nuts, any ideas?

Yes, these work great with the Powertec T-tracks, I have them mounted to almost every one of my universal jigs and fixtures. I have also collected the Powertec 5/16" Jig and Hardware kits that will fit the same Powertec T-tracks. As for the flat nuts, try looking up sliding T nuts, 80/20 centered sliding T nuts, or 1/4"-20 oval nuts for a couple different varieties. You might also consider standard 1/4"-20 and 5/16"-18 nuts which work just as well with Powertec T-tracks and have a much firmer grip than flat nuts and slide along just as easy.

What size drill bit is used for the 5/16!brass threaded insert ?

Measure the minor diameter of the thread, then add a little larger drill to use the threaded insert. If it is a hardwood, add little more to the side.
