Great arch support and the fit is perfect from day 1! There is no break in period at all. Love these shoes, this is my second pair. The first pair I bought for hiking and they are great for that and every day use. They also look great.

Pretty Good
I always like the lowa walker shoes. They are smaller than most. I always take an 11, but I always get Lowa's in 11.5. Good overall for non-hiking walks.

New Tempest drops Vibram Soul, reduces support, and toe protection. not a trail hiker any longer.
I've owned the Tempest Lo. The first model lasted several years, eventually the laces pulled through the leather. No eyelets to prevent that. Lost perhaps a year's usage due to that. The upgraded model looked good, so this year I ordered it. However since I last looked, the model changed again. The new Tempest Lo no longer has a Vibram sole. The front toe guard area is significantly smaller providing less protection when hiking. This is clearly now an urban walking shoe, and not a hiker. I can't imaging taking this across a long day hike with any load. I'm returning them and looking for another brand.

Not very comfortable, feels real hard at the ball of both feet. I have low a mountaineer boots and love those. I do carpentry and wear those every day up here in New England. The shoes are quality made just not up to my comfort level

Inflation via cost cutting.
Not the same shoes as before. Once again, inflation strikes in the form of degrading products.I'll agree with the other reviews on the lack of Vibram soles, general build quality, etc. My early Tempest shoes lasted for years and are just now getting a little broken down, so these new ones were purchased. To their credit, they fit about the same.In the interest of measuring the Decline of the Western World, I've taken to weighing products on postal scales to compare them to the older version. The older shoes? 1.22 lbs/shoe, the new one? 1.02 lbs. Magically, 20% of the product has disappeared. This will be my last pair, and I'll have to go on yet another trek for non-Chinese shoes. It's a tricky matter.

Awesome
I have been buying LOWA boots for the last 15 years and love them. These low cuts are very comfortable and great looking with short cut golf socks. I'm a property manager on Hilton Head island and can't wear flip flops on the job. The shoes are perfect...........5 stars!

Very well built shoes
I really love Lowa shoes, but they run a little narrow in the toe box.

Too Narrow
I owned several pairs of the old style Tempest Lo. Never had a problem with fit. The redesigned version is much narrower than the previous versions. This shoe made my feet hurt from the time I put them on until I took them off. Too bad Lowa messed with the design of this shoe.
