These are traditionally called Blindman's Rules, because the markings are very large and easy to read. They remain just as attractive and functional today as they were 100 years ago. With their complex solid brass joints, these hardwood rules are not easy tools to make well.Highly recommended as one of the most classic tools any woodworker can add to his toolbox. Additional Details:The 36" length folds down to a 9" long section Easily slips into your pants pocketThese are NOT manufactured in Asia, but are made in HollandThe scale is handy when measuring inside dimensionsSquares and different angles can be executed with these old but good tools

Bad quality
Terrible quality . Warped. Hinges very hard to work. Is definitely in accurate. Can’t believe that Garret Wade who portray such quality would sell this when it’s bad as it is.Sending it back soon as I figure out how.Virgil ottoBad quality.

Did not live up to the description.
Poorly made. Not straight. “Hardwood” was not sanded; I got a splinter from it.

changes all the rules
Years and years ago, tailors had rulers like this with bold brass hinges. This is as close as you will come to that. Takes up little space and is a wonderful measure. Enjoy.

Perfect
Just what I was looking for. These are really hard to find. Due to where I work, I can’t use modern tools, so this is perfect.
