This is one sticky mat!
I practiced for the 1st time on this mat today and it was not quite life-changing but for a yoga mat, I think this might be as close as it comes.I do heated styles of yoga and even if I didn't, I would still be sweating on the mat. This mat has incredible grip. It's even better when wet.I have the 5 mm thick Sacred mat and it's perfect for me. My other mat is an 8 mm super-thick (and very heavy) Jade mat. I think it weighs 8 lbs! I hate lugging it around but I need the cushion. There pros with the Sacred mat are that it has just enough cushion to work but the grip is what makes it amazing. My feet do not budge. My hands feel incredibly secure - without a towel! I had become towel-addicted but now I don't have to work about that one extra thing. The pros with the Jade mat are the extra cushion and the rubber open cell construction that let's you use either side. It will last literally forever. The thing is bulletproof. As much as I like the Sacred yoga mat, I can tell it's a mat I'll have to replace every so often. But all told, the stickiness of the Sacred mat and fact that I don't need to stock up on expensive yoga towels it's enough to tip the scales.

Really extreme grip? I can't believe the reviews.
Really extreme grip?I can't believe the reviews. The hand skin type is a little dryI bought this mat after seeing the promotion and review of <Extreme Grip>Until now, even a 10-dollar mat has never experienced such a slippery mat.All mats have pros and cons, and there may be differences from person to person. When I use mats such as manduka, lifeform, bmat, lululemon, etc.Which mat told me'ok?' or'not ok?' There may be situations like this. However, this Sacred mat cannot be used because it is just a slippery situation.I asked some of my yoga friends to try if they were okay,I haven't found anyone who feels not slippery yet.

Super grippy and sticky for the sweatiest hands
During my yoga practice, hot yoga or not, I always find my hands slipping during downward dog. I was always that person that needed a towel or blocks underneath my hands otherwise my hands would start losing their grip within the first 10 mins. I've tried the towel-mats and those are good but only at your sweatiest - otherwise you're still slipping around when the mat isn't wet.So I started looking for rubber sticky mats. I happened upon this one because it looked like it used the sticky rubber material but at a slightly more reasonable price point than the Liforme. Let me tell you - this purchase is TOTALLY worth it. I've never used a Liforme but I'm guessing this is the same type of mat for a lower price. I feel secure, even when I start sweating my hands and feet don't move. I'm finding I can hold postures way better than I ever did. It is that perfect sticky rubber material that stays grippy even when it's wet. Any water on it evaporates pretty quickly. If you are a sweaty hands/feet yogi, this mat is a wonderful choice. Am debating buying another one in another color!

Best mat I’ve used so far
Update: the mat is finally starting to show some signs of wear; the top layer is starting to bubble and peel in spots. This is expected considering how often I’ve used it over the past year. Still absorbs the moisture well, but I can tell a slight difference from when it was new. Will def be buying my second one when the time comes!Such an awesome investment! I purposefully waited to leave this review to see how the mat held up over time. I purchased in October 2019, and I take heated power classes 2-3 times per week. This mat has been to roughly 100 sweaty yoga classes with me and has lots of life left! It absorbs moisture so quickly I don’t use a towel on my mat in class. No slipping or sliding! I expect to use this one through the end of the year or longer before it starts to break down; when that time comes, I will surely purchase another. Great investment for yogis who sweat and hate sliding on their mat!

Waiste of money, is more a decoration on my wood floor than a real Yoga Mat
I regret paying for a nice bag, a beautiful box, and a mediocre yoga mat. It doesn't have the grip they say it has, at least not for an advanced yoga practitioner like me. And it doesn't have the cushioning to do things like 3 minutes headstands, or long-standing dog poses. I am not denying that is a beautiful mat, but it functions more as a decorative carpet over my wood floor than a yoga mat

Still slippery when wet
I bought this yoga mat for a few reasons: it’s larger (I’m 6’), it’s made from biodegradable materials, and it is suppose to grip well when wet. The last of those is not entirely accurate. It really depends on how much you sweat, and I sweat A LOT in my hot yoga class! I brought my yoga mat towel just in case and had to use it half way through the class because my sweat drenched palms were slipping in downward dog. For the price of this mat, I was hoping I wouldn’t need to purchase a towel but it looks like I will need to buy a long towel now as well. - 1 star

Best yoga mat for Under $100. Beats out Liforme at 2/3 the price.
I am an RYT-200 hour certified yoga teacher and have been practicing for about 15 years. I have had dozens of yoga mats. This is my favorite mat I have EVER had for heated studios. It is sticky when dry, but then super absorbent, remaining sticky when it gets soaked with sweat. Most mats are one or the other. I have to pour water on my 50% more expensive Liforme mat so I don’t slide around at the beginning of practice. It is absorbent enough to not need to use a towel at any point. This means less laundry and less schlepping of wet, sweaty stuff. The weight, however, is the best part. It is well padded and yet dense and heavy, creating an extremely stable and supportive surface. I don’t need extra padding for knees in lunges or camel, for hips in locust or bow, or for my head in sirsasana.
