Motor Failed. Seller honored warranty.
UPDATE: While motor did fail, the warranty process was easy, and the seller was very responsive regarding the warranty.I had hopes for this based upon reviews.Well, 5 months in and it has quit working, and of course on a snowy day. Now the truck is stuck in 4 wheel drive. Not sure how the warranty works but I don't really wanna warranty it out only to get another one to just 5 months, well maybe 9-10 months since it will be summertime shortly. Based upon my experience so far, I would not recommend buying this item.

Failed after 3 uses
Unit failed quick!Install was easy and I did not power on the unit or plug it in before it was installed. It went right on and worked on a fresh reman transfer case and rebuilt trans. I kept the old one it still worked I just wanted "NEW".Any way after the 3 try it would NOT shift out of 4 wheel Hi IT WAS STICK THERE!After we put it on a lift and had no pressure on the wheels at all it still wouldn't shift. It was just growling so We Replaced it with the old shift motor and BAM WORKED FINE again.I did return it for a refund Amazon is Good!

Problem resolved, working, good Customer service......
The problem I had was resolved with satisfactory customer service and a new part delivered in two business days. The part came and I installed it with no problem and it booted up and works as it should.Customer service did try to resolve the issue and although they may not be rocket scientists, neither am I and a faulty part is a hardThing to resolve as you wonder if it is getting power etc.I now have fwd. for anyone doing this on a 2004 Suburban, youCAN do it with out dropping the driveshaft by turning the center boltBy the driveshaft in quarter inch increments. Patience is all that is required. If the locator bump on the splines coming out of the transfer case do not line up, put transmission in neutral, and turn splines with pliers and rag for protection. All in all a decent part at a good price.Nice to have a company on Amazon stand behind their product!Mark N

VERY IMPORTANT do not plug in and test before install
You MUST install this on transfer case before plugging in and powering up.All other similar products have a warning label that says "do not power up before install", despite a youtube video that says to do this. This one did not have the label and I powered it up. I then had to disconnect battery and reset module, as it caused many errors. You MUST place the truck in nuetral and jack one rear wheel off the ground so you can spin rear drive shaft. this will allow slack to turn the transfer case selector by hand, or with pliers, it moves easily with no load on it. The splines must line up exactly. It took a little bit to adjust the transfer case splines very slightly to get it line up.AFTER install, hold the selector knob on the dash full turned to the right (nuetral) and turn key on. Hold 30 seconds +/- and let it go. The light will eventually indicate 4low. Work the knob slowly to each selection. Allow the light to follow. At one point I had to turn drive shaft slightly by hand to allow it to release from 4low. After all was tested, it worked fine. The initial testing had me worried, as it didnt work, only the lights blinked, but I believe it was because I powered it up to test it before the actual install on the transfer case. One other note, I have the knob, not the push button selectors as pictured in the ad. It seems to work fine.

Easy application
Product fit perfectly. Quick delivery, within 48hrs! Comes preset in neutral. Remove the front driveline. Makes everything very accessible. Clip the rubber stub that holds the electrical connection in position. The new one has a one on the new connection. Make sure you get your vehicle into neutral!!!! Let me say that again MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE TRANSFER CASE INTO NEUTRAL. The red light on the 4 we switch. Put your rig’s transmission into neutral, while running. Push the 2wd and 4wd low buttons at the same time for about 10 secs. The red light will come on. I used regular car ramps and it was plenty high enough, even with me on a creeper. Make sure you set the E-brake. Use wheel chocks on the rear tires. Took around an hour from start to finish and I played around with the front U-joint trying to decide whether or not to replace it .. didn’t. Good luck

Don't bother
I installed one of these things on my Tahoe, and had no issues for a few months, but then the issues came back (the 4WD kept shifting on its own overnight, would constantly keep saying the t-case was in neutral, etc.). So I replaced it again. Only the next one didn't resolve the issues right out of the gate, so I figured it must be something else. After many months of troubleshooting, at no small expense I might add, I eventually discovered that the issue is in fact this stupid encoder motor. Which means one only worked for a few months and the next one didn't work right out of the box!Unfortunately, ACDelco doesn't make these any more, but my mechanic recommended the Dorman brand, fwiw.Do yourself a favor though, and skip this one altogether. It's not worth it!

Stopped working in the first week
Worked fine for a few days, then when trying to shoft from 2hi to 4hi it decided to read neutral. It's still in 2hi but says neutral and won't shift to anything else.
